One of the most exciting prospects of Kingdom Hearts 4 is seeing what new worlds will be included. For this list, we'll be showcasing the exciting and diverse IPs this franchise could pull from for the new entry. Our list includes “Coco” (2017), the MCU (2008-), “Zootopia” (2016), “Wall-E” (2008), and more! What world or Disney property would you like to see in Kingdom Hearts 4? Let us know your pics down in the comments.

“Treasure Planet” (2002)

It’s about time Treasure Planet got the recognition it deserves and Kingdom Hearts 4 would be a fantastic way to introduce this futuristic take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel “Treasure Island”. The tale of space pirates in search of untold riches on a planet hidden somewhere in the galaxy could lend itself well to the world of Kingdom Hearts, with Sora and the gang teaming up to be the first to find the mysterious planet before the new organization hinted at in the KH4 reveal trailer. With ships sailing through the stars, and skysurfing, the opportunities for not only exploration but also mini games are already basically designed for the team at Square. With a loveable cast of characters and a timeless story, Kingdom Hearts needs to set sail for Treasure Planet sooner rather than later.

“Raya and The Last Dragon” (2021)

The most recent entry on our list, the mystic and fantastical world of Raya would easily fit the lore of Kingdom Hearts with its tale of dragons and the evil entity known as the Druun. The Druun perfectly encapsulate the Heartless already with its ability to turn any who come in contact with it to stone, and the Heartless could effortlessly either join or assume the antagonist role in an adventure that would have our heroes teaming up with the titular Raya and the Last Dragon, Sisu. Sora, along with Raya and her companions, join forces to fend off a combined Heartless and reawakened Druun as they again begin to ravage and attack the land of Kumandra. Sisu's water dragon powers acting as the team’s magical force during battles could prove to be a spectacular advantage for the trio of heroes.

“A Bug’s Life” (1998)

We’ve visited a lot of Pixar worlds in recent Kingdom Hearts games, but somehow one of the smallest adventures has consistently been overlooked. It would be great to see Sora and the gang become insects - my guess is Goofy would be a caterpillar of some kind - and help Flik and the rest of the ant colony take on Hopper after he teams up with the Heartless. Seeing the world from a smaller perspective would be reminiscent of the Alice in Wonderland levels in the original Kingdom Hearts and isn’t something we’ve really gotten to experience since that first game. The movie has so much heart and fighting spirit that it would be a natural fit for the Kingdom Hearts universe. Team us up alongside The Circus Bugs and this pint-sized adventure could be bigger than the movie it’s based on.

“Zootopia” (2016)

We’re putting out an APB for a trio of heroes to team up and hunt down the Heartless wreaking havoc with the most unlikely duo on the Zootopia PD. In what would be a great break from all the battles and rhythm games usually associated with the Kingdom Hearts titles, give us a chance to join ZPD officers Judy Hops and Nick Wild and hunt down clues to solve a mystery that takes them to the furthest corners of the various biomes that make up Zootopia. Helping the numerous species of animals living within the city limits and letting players solve puzzles and piece the clues together to find out what the new Organization is up to in Zootopia would offer a brand new play style from a series that has become increasingly reliant on button mashing.

“Moana” (2016)

What can we say except “You’re Welcome” for this trip to Motunui! Braving the seas as Moana and letting players tap into Maui’s many shape shifting powers to take on the Heartless after they corrupt Te Fiti and reawaken Te Kā. Sailing across the open seas would be reminiscent of the Pirates of the Caribbean levels in previous games albeit with less creepily realistic Donald and Goofy. Moana’s ability to call upon the ocean to assist in sea battles against the Kakamora could add a more strategic approach to sea combat given Moana’s lack of weapons on her boat. We can’t wait to explore the oceans and discover new islands Maui pulls from the sea to unlock new treasures and then dive deep into the monster realm and encounter Tamatoa in a climactic boss fight. But whatever you do, don’t mess with Maui when he’s on a breakaway.

“Coco” (2017)

Coco is by far one of the most visually dazzling releases in Pixar’s extensive portfolio and having Sora join Miguel in the Land of the Dead could make the level a showcase piece for Kingdom Hearts 4’s inevitable camera mode. Given the film’s story centered around music and song, the world of Coco could work similar to the world of The Little Mermaid in early Kingdom Hearts titles with a mix of exploration and combat as well as rhythm based sections. Whether the world would follow the events of the movie or see Miguel sucked back into the world of the Dead to once again take on the nefarious Ernesto, the gorgeous setting of Coco is a world we would love to explore living or dead.

“Wall-E” (2008)

The last working robot on Earth needs to go on one more adventure. Wall-E’s journey from the planet's surface into space would be a great opener for Sora and crew to team up with him on the flagship Axiom. With humans helpless against the Heartless, Wall-E, EVA, and the rest of the malfunctioning robots could team up to help Sora, Donald, and Goofy to stop the Heartless from preventing the Axiom returning to Earth. AUTO was already a great kid friendly version of HAL from 2001 A Space Odyssey and would make a great corrupted antagonist that constantly shifts the ship around to stop our heroes from reaching the control room to finally switch AUTO off. Having the level culminating in the Axiom finally reaching Earth and starting life anew would be a great way to lock the door to the Heartless and save Wall-E’s world.

“Wreck It Ralph” (2012-18)

We know Ralph’s world was available in Kingdom Hearts Union X and Ralph himself was a summon in KH3, but we think the big guy deserves his own full world to explore in Kingdom Hearts 4. While this would end up being a logistical nightmare for property owners of the many franchises featured in the movies, we imagine a world where Ralph and Vanellope could explore the original games such as the eponymous Wreck It Ralph and kart racer Sugar Rush portrayed in the movies and leave all the properties not owned by Disney in the background. Given the success of the Wreck It Ralph series and the enduring likeability of its characters, they could easily team up with Sora to fight the Heartless that mysteriously end up in Litwak’s Arcade and put all the other games at risk of being unplugged forever.

MCU (2008-)

This one is a guarantee, given it’s both the biggest franchise series in movie history and Disney’s strongest IP. While a trip to the world of The Incredibles would also give us our superhero fix, we think dropping into the MCU is the more likely direction the franchise would go. Given that the MCU has not only introduced time travel but also the Multiverse, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine Sora, Donald and Goofy dropping into the Battle of New York alongside the first official team up of the Avengers to fight not only the Chitari but also the Heartless pouring out of the sky onto the streets of New York. And given the more realistic tone of the first trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4, it would be pretty easy to see our trio of heroes fighting to save New York and send the Heartless back to Thanos.

Star Wars (1977-)

Despite the recent trilogy not quite hitting the same highs as the original or even the prequels, there’s no denying the staying power of Star Wars. Not to mention many fans are sure they already spotted the foot of an AT-AT on Endor in the premiere trailer. This property making the jump to Kingdom Hearts just fits so perfectly, (Lightsaber Keyblade anyone?), it would honestly be crazy for Disney not to allow it. While it would be great to see a new Star Wars story told in KH4, we wouldn’t mind seeing a version of the original trilogy play out with Sora and the gang tagging along. However, given Disney’s new direction with the High Republic and the success of The Mandalorian, we could end up seeing a brand new adventure in a galaxy far, far away.
