#5: Mushroom Dome Cabin

Aptos, CA, United States

If economical living is your thing, then you’re going to love the Mushroom Dome Cabin. This minuscule Airbnb rental is nestled between giant redwoods and is the perfect location if you’re an outdoorsy kind of person; as it is located in an excellent location for hikes along scenic forest trails. Due to its size, this cabin is best suited for couples, although it can accommodate up to three people. Prices can fluctuate, but it is definitely one of the cheaper options on the list and every bit as inviting as its peers. Sit back, relax, and gaze up at the stars through the spectacular geodesic dome.

#4: Casa Arbol

San Juan del Sur, Rivas, Nicaragua

This place takes tree houses to a whole new level! Located in the canopy of a Nicaraguan forest, this place has all the amenities of a hotel with the added benefit of being an open-air tree fort that would make Tarzan proud. This two-story rental property features spectacular views of the surrounding area and is only a short drive from three awesome beaches. And don’t worry, Casa Arbol comes equipped with flat screen TVs, comfy couches and a fully functioning kitchen. If this place isn’t daring enough for you, then check out the Treehouse at Kilauea Volcano…it’s exactly what you think.

#3: Old Tower

Hvar, Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia

Cozy, intimate, warm…you can pretty much pick whichever homey adjective you like to describe this Airbnb rental. Only a short walk from the town square, this historic tower has been completely refurbished from the inside out. Built as a windmill in 1761, the tower has since become the region’s premier place for weary travelers. This rental will accommodate up to six people and features an awesome patio for afternoon drinks, spiral staircase, and a comfy lounge area for when it’s time to put your feet up. Who wouldn’t want to spend a night in a centuries-old tower?

Peculiar doesn’t even scratch the surface when discussing this rental. Situated on the scenic island of Isla Mujeres, just off the coast of Cancun, Mexico, this Airbnb was built to look exactly like those seashells you spent your childhood stepping on during family trips to the beach.
