Who wouldn?t like a retro setting using super advance and secret technology for the time. Work for a secret society and deal with unknown forces. Its sounded like the perfect replacement for Assassins Creed. Yet it lacked the open world, polished mechanics and AI and most of all a meaningful story.

I dont remember how did Ubisoft sell the hacking mthe buttechanics when the game was anounced. But after playing you realize there are no new mechanics. The puzzles are hardly different from what seen dozens of times before in other games. And the new mechanic was just getting to activate something from a few feet a way, instead of next to it.

The early gameplay from demos and trailers at the time looked great, until the game was released, resulted in Sega to put a disclaimer in the trailers.

Being able to level up to become Jedi is awesome and all, but the path to doing so in this game was so nonsensically convoluted that it frustrated gamers to the point of quitting. Sony Online's attempt to overhaul the game only made the game even worse and betrayed the few people who actually spent years working to become Jedi.

The setting was ok. While the performance controversy did its share to hurt the game. Something just didnt work in there when apliying the old AC formula and those yearly tweaks. For a game that was based on parkouring through town, making really high buildings was not they way to go. I?d rather take a walk next time, but the streets are so crowded

It was envisioned as a open-world exploration game with minigames... on the ATARI 2600. But this game was shipped to production six weeks before QA was to begin.
