In volumes 2 & 3, Mercury stole the show. The Law of Mercury exists that once Mercury gets into a fight, asskicking and awesome animation will ensue. Taikwondo plus breakdancing, fighting other baddasses on a equal level, and his backstory makes Mercury one of the best villains on the show.

She's very sympatheic but also ruthless. Defeated Coco, her illusions started a ton of conflicts and controversy fan theories, and her Notice ME Senpai relationship with Cinder.

He gave Yang PTSD, treated Blake like crap in a abusive relationship, and secretly rules the White Fang. Everything about him is dark and yet cool.
Even in death, the fans swallow in his glory. Plus, he's a great foil to Ruby and Blake.

Ren's entire reason for becoming a Huntsman stems from this Grimm killing his parents. It can take on an entire village and had Team RNJR on the ropes.

We were tricked into thinking she was a side villain and she proved to be soo much more. Organizing Vale's downfall, fighting Glynda to a draw, stealing the Fall Maiden's Power, recruit Mercury and Emerald, and she killed Pyrrha!
