to create this Lumage form of cut-out animation, Korty used some clear fabric sheets called pellon. when the light shines through it, the pellon shows a beautiful a-ray of painted colors on it, and looks similar to probably an animated stained-glass window.

not one, but two versions; adult themed cut version included
the adult themed version was the one that was released in theaters, and John didn't know about that until the day of the movie's premiere, thus leading him to quickly pulling it out from the theaters, and therefore, making it fall into obscurity.
James Cranna, who would voice Rod and Scuzz in the movie, was the voice of her bird companion, Cyruss. In fact, in a Sesame Street segment, What's inside the Street, Cranna even went as far as to voice a bird looking a bit similar to Cyruss who explained that in a way, a street is pretty much like a cake.
Lorenzo Music, of Garfield, and Disney's Gummi Bears fame, was the voice of one of the two un-likely hero characters in this movie, Ralph, the All-Purpose Animal.
it's hard to tell if he liked doing this or not, but it's probably better than seeing him trying to make a Jukebox Musical. specifically, Strange Magic, which didn't seem to do as well for him as he was probably hoping for.

Hennry Selick, before The Nightmare Before Christmas
although these stations aired the movie, and even though John was able to re-release his PG version on VHS and/or lasser-disc, the movie's airing on Cartoon Network was the last time the movie would ever be seen again...for now.
