Looked like: A kids film with an anthropomorphic kangaroo with guaranteed laughs. Was: A boring, unfunny, tone-deaf film with very little of the eponymous marsupial

I never read the book, and while there are parts of the movie that are good the trailer made it seem like a Spiderwick Chronicles and it is not. It so isn't....

Trailer did not tell me it would be comprised of 40% slow zoom on Gosling's face as he stares off into nowhere. Overrated simply because of the elevator scene.
