We Hope They Have Their Resumes Handy
The world of employment can be a scary one, after all very few can claim to be masters of their chosen craft and sail through a career without fault or failure. This doubly goes for anime characters, who as we all know always manage to find a way to overcome the toughest (and most bizarre) of obstacles, including workplace crises. Unfortunately, some characters just happen to be beyond the pale when it comes to being incompetent…
While we can’t help but admire their commitment, it’s become very obvious over the course of their respective series that these particular three should really consider handing in the towel for their own sake.
#3: Denki Kaminari
“My Hero Academia” (2016-)
Granted, he doesn’t have the worst Quirk around, but it’s fair to say that Kaminari’s lack of control and added immaturity has left him at the bottom of the superhero ladder. Whether he’s constantly frying his own brain when busting out his Electrification power or trying to peep on the ladies, it’s a sad day when even the likes of the obnoxious Mineta is likely going to best you as a costumed crime-fighter. Might be time to hang up that nonexistent cape there buddy.
#2: Aqua
“KonoSuba” (2016-17)
Sure, she pulls off some great party tricks and would probably be someone who you’d love to hang out with after hours, but that still doesn’t change the fact this little lady is a poor excuse for a goddess. Inept, selfish and the furthest thing from benevolent, her immaturity has often resulted in Kazama’s party getting thrown from one chaotic mess to the next. She might pull through on the odd occasion, but she’s still far off from being our deity of choice.
#1: Aoi Yamada
“Working!!” (2010-11; 2015-16)
Being a waitress can certainly be a tough gig at times, but even on their worst day, no server could ever hope to mess up as badly as this self-proclaimed sixteen year old. Not only is she terribly clumsy, but her bluntness causes no end of problems for her coworkers. Spreading gossip, revealing other people’s secrets, trying to turn everyone into a pseudo-family, the headache never really ends. She may be a sweet girl, but she’s also a restaurant’s worst nightmare.
