The Pirate King Gets His Video Game Due
We’re in no way saying that any of the previous One Piece games were awful. For fans, they were most certainly a treat, plus they made for decent hack and slash experiences for casual gamers. However, it’s fair to say that despite the amount their numeracy, they never managed to elevate themselves beyond “just okay.”
That being said, Luffy and company’s upcoming gaming escapade, now known as World Seeker, has been getting plenty of buzz for all the right reasons. According to an article on Crunchyroll, World Seeker is going to be giving players something they’ve always wanted; an open world for them to explore and immerse themselves in. Given how Oda’s world is vast and beyond the pale when it comes to creativity, seeing it all in video game form would be a dream for many.
Bandai Namco is going for something a little different with One Piece: World Seeker, an open-world game that tells an original story. That story will give players plenty of options depending on how they want to tackle a situation, from charging in head-on to sneaking around for a more strategic approach.Â
One Piece: World Seeker is coming to PS4 in 2018.Â
We’re pretty sure fans had the same reaction when they heard the rumors.
If we get to fly around the screen with Luffy’s Devil Fruit powers like a pirate version of Spider-Man as well as get to battle against larger than life bosses, than this latest entry might just crack the mainstream and show newcomers just how awesome One Piece is.
