Top 5 Little Witch Academia Moments

Consider Us Spellbound

If you’ll forgive the pun, there was something utterly magical about Studio Trigger’s latest anime project. While its visuals remained consistently gorgeous and its characters brought waves of personality with them, it was a far cry from the likes of Gurren Lagann or Kill la Kill. The humour didn’t rely on any kind of sexual innuendo, there was little to no bloodshed, and yet thanks to its endearing theme of belief and endless amount of charm, it still managed to win the hearts of fans everywhere.

Well on its way to becoming one of the best anime of the year, we have decided to countdown what we believe to be Akko, Sucy and Lotte’s best magical moments!

Fair warning, there are MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

#5: A Random Mecha Appeared

Because giant robots make everything better. When Croix’s magic turns the spirits of the Wild Hunt into giant monsters, its up to the combined might of Akko and Constanze to save the day. Luckily for them, they’ve built a mecha to help take down the spirits. The call back to Gurren Lagann isn’t only heartwarming, its damn entertaining!

#4: Chariot Is A Badass

In order to save Akko from being experimented on by Croix, Proffessor Ursala fights through a gauntlet of magical creatures and traps. Its here that we see for the first time that Shiny Chariot and Ursala are one and the same person. Not only that, Chariot is something of a beast! She’s so skilled with magic and combat that its kind of mesmerising.

#3: The Love Bee

Quite possibly the funniest moment in the entire series. After crashing Andrew’s party, Sucy (who else?) decides to make things more interesting by letting loose a bee whose sting makes people fall in love with whoever they next look at. As a result, we get a whole slew of shipping along with the hilarious sight of Akko running around a mansion trying to squash said bee before everyone succumbs to love. On a side note, Andrew’s got some pretty slick moves on him!

#2: The Truth

From funny to heartbreaking. While we had all assumed that Akko just wasn’t that talented when it came to magic, we finally discovered it was something else entirely. As it turns out, attending Chariot’s show in the past had unknowingly stripped her of all magic ability thanks to Croix’s deception. Distraught that her idol had caused her such a stigma, Akko flees in tears. Don’t be surprised if you get a lump in your throat.

#1: The Ascent

In true Trigger fashion, the ending to this show is just as crazy as you would expect. In order to stop a magically sentient missile from killing everyone, Akko and the other witches launch themselves on a massive broom in order to intercept it. As a result, everyone gets their moment to shine as they use their own skills to reach higher and higher, eventually leading to Akko and Diana finally putting the monstrosity down for good.
