New Trailer For Gintama Video Game Revealed

Ready To See Gintoki Kick Ass?

While he’s far better known for being a comedic figure whose slapstick antics and fourth wall breaks always manage to inspire a chuckle, it’s well known that Gintoki Sakata is also a beast of a swordsman!

While his action scenes tend to be far and few in-between, from the way his new video game is looking, it seems like we’re in for no end of hacking and slashing.

According to an article on Anime News Network

Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming the first promotional video on Saturday for its upcoming Gintama Ranbu action game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The video previews the battle mechanics reminiscent of Musou games.

The video features the following playable characters: Gintoki, Shinpachi, Kagura, Katsura (with short hair), and Takasugi. The video also shows Gintoki fighting Nizō Okada, and reveals and previews SPYAIR‘s theme song “Scramble.”

The game will ship in Japan for both consoles on January 18.

The game will have a Limited “AV Edition” release that will include 16 songs from the anime, as well as 60 additional voiced lines. Those who pre-order the game will also get a drama CD. The limited edition PS4 version retails for 10,600 yen (about US$94), and the regular PS4 version retails for 7,600 yen (US$67). The limited edition PS Vita version retails for 9,800 yen (US$87), and the regular PS Vita version retails for 6,800 yen (US$60).

The game is getting an English release in Southeast Asia.

We’re sure the developers will still manage to find time to fit in plenty of gags in-between boss battles, but as long as we get to see the White Demon go crazy with that wooden sword of his, we’ll be happy.

Either that…or we get to play as Elizabeth.
