Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Titans in Attack on Titan. For this list, we’ll be looking at the most iconic monsters to stem from this modern anime marvel, based on both popularity and just how much impact they’ve had on this crazy puzzle box of a narrative. Agree with our picks or are you disheartened that the Freddie Mercury Titan isn’t here? Make like Eren and scream in the comments below.

#10: Rod Reiss Titan

Top 10 Times Attack on Titan Went Too Far

While not one of the Nine, no one can deny how much of a splash this made upon in its debut. Besides, at least Rod’s girth now matches his ego. Following on from Historia’s rejection of her father’s decision to continue the cycle of the First King, and breaking his back in the process, all the Reiss Patriarch can do is ingest the Titan serum himself. The result is a bloated, hulking creature that’s as large as it is mindless. The thing can barely stand, content to crawl towards its target, shaving off the front of its face in the process. Still, nothing a mouth full of explosives can’t fix.

#9: Cart Titan

What hope could an over-sized pack mule have of ever holding its own? Well, fit it with a bunch of guns and have it go for a walk, and it’s a whole different story. Acting as a scout and carrier, it not only was able to save Zeke from Levi’s clutches, but has been noted to have immense endurance – able to hold its Titan form for extended periods of time. With the amount of weaponry that can be applied to it for every situation, it’s clear that Pieck is not to be underestimated.

#8: Jaw Titan

Now here’s a Titan that’s been around the block. Originally bestowed to Eldian Warrior Marcel, the power of the Jaw was snatched away in a single bite by Ymir, freeing her of her mindless state. Small yet agile, she would go on to use it in order to save Historia from harm. Eventually, the Jaw made its way back to Marley, where Marcel’s brother Pocco would use it to much more devastating effect. Especially since it got that metal faceplate fitted. Don’t judge its size, this thing can do some real damage!

#7: Founding Titan

The progenitor of all Titans and the deciding factor in the war, those who come into possession of this power become the Coordinate, and in doing so gain control over all other Titans. As you can imagine, that’s a pretty handy ability when you’re looking to destroy a whole nation, though it can only be activated by those with the blood of royalty. Originally, inheriting the Founding Titan doomed the vessel to become a slave to the will of the First King, but now that it’s in Eren’s possession, he’s free to do whatever the hell he wants with it!

#6: Female Titan

For the longest time, this giant femme fatale was the most lethal threat to those inside the walls. Taking on the form of a rather slender, feminine figure, Annie’s transformation allows her to excel in dexterity, to the point where she can even use martial arts despite her size. Throw in her mastery of hardening, and this big bitch proved to be a nightmare for the Survey Corp. Decapitating Eren’s Titan Form with a single kick and wiping out Levi’s Squad rank among her most infamous accomplishments!

#5: War Hammer Titan

The ace in the hole in service to the true rulers of Marley. In spite of their Eldian heritage, the Tybur Family are all about wiping out those within Paradis Island, while keeping their own kin impoverished. How fitting that their unflinching willingness to bring down the hammer on their own people afforded them one of the most destructive of the Nine. Able to conjure structures and weapons out of its own flesh, this thing packs quite the wallop, making it one of the deadliest Titans out there.

#4: Beast Titan

Both in and outside of his hairy shell, Zeke is a monster. Not only does he both share a twisted history with Eren as his half-brother and out his parents to the Marlyean authorities, but also he has one of the biggest kill counts to date! Thanks to the royal blood in his veins, Zeke can bend the will of the pure Titans to his will, though not to the same extent as the Coordinate. While this can turn the tide of a battle in his favour, the Beast Titan’s real strength is the lethality of its throwing arm. You don’t want to be caught on the end of one of his fast balls.

#3: Armored Titan

What do you get when you put a volatile and mentally damaged individual inside of an unstoppable, armoured monstrosity that can smash through practically anything? A lot of broken walls, bodies, and trauma. Even with his split personality and abundance of PTSD, Reiner proved himself time and time again as the most dedicated of the Eldian Warriors, his Titan form allowing him to break through anyone in his way, while the plating along his body prevented him from suffering any kind of damage.

#2: Colossal Titan

Arguably the strongest Titan of them all, this thing just needs to show up and it can decimate everything in sight. Towering over all other Titans, the size alone would normally allow the timid Bertholdt to take out whatever enemy dared try to square up to him with just a casual kick. However, its true power comes from the ability to exert an incredible amount of heat and steam, both of which can easily reduce anyone caught in the maelstrom to a charred corpse. We can’t wait to see how Armin gets creative with it now that he’s in the driver’s seat.

#1: Attack Titan

The face of the series, and the one Titan leading the charge to crush Marley into the ground. Passed onto Eren by his father Grisha, this vanguard is all about taking names and dishing out the punches. In the hands of the ever-vengeful Jaeger, the Attack Titan has force to spare, which proved to be highly effective when utilised with Eren’s combat training. Throw in excessive hardening abilities and its bottomless rage, and everyone on the other side of the sea should be very afraid when they see this thing coming their way.
