Top 10 Kit Harington Moments

#10: Winking & Blinking for Spoilers
“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (2014-)
In April 2019, Kit Harington appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, just a few weeks before the final season of “Game of Thrones”. However, talking about it wasn’t all they did. Fallon proposed a game where he would show images from the last “GoT” season, and Harington would have to wink for “yes” or blink for “no”. The results were amusing… but not helpful to eager beavers wanting to be spoiled. Turns out Harington is terrible when it comes to winking. So, it was hard to decipher what he was confirming or denying.
#9: Colbert Tries to Guess How “Game of Thrones” Ends
“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (2015-)
Fallon wasn’t the only talk show host who tried pressing Harington for answers. About a month before appearing on Fallon’s show, Harington was on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”. Colbert would read off a handful of his predictions, trying to guess how “Game of Thrones” will end. All Harington had to do was convey no emotion. Our man failed spectacularly. Colbert’s predictions were often absurd (as one would expect from him), and Harington’s reactions to them were absolutely priceless.
#8: Tennis Supremecy
“7 Days in Hell” (2015)
Many people only know Kit Harington for “Game of Thrones”, but the man has done several other projects since the series premiered. “Silent Hill: Retribution”, “Pompeii”, and “How to Train Your Dragon 2”, just to name a few. However, some of his best work can be found in the TV movie “7 Days in Hell”. Harington and Andy Samberg play as two tennis players who compete for seven days. With an eighty percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a digestible forty-five minute runtime, “7 Days in Hell” shows that Harington can do comedies just as well as he can do dramas and action movies.
#7: When He Spoiled “Game of Thrones” for His Wife
“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (2015-)
If you were married to someone who plays a character in your favorite TV show, would you want them to spoil everything? Harington’s wife, former co-star Rose Leslie, said yes...for some reason. While on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, Harington recounted the time Leslie pressured him into spoiling the season 7 conclusion. Spoiler alert - she was not a happy camper. According to Harington, she wouldn’t stop asking him. Maybe this is why she started throwing her husband out of the house every time he got the scripts in…
#6: His SNL Monologue With His Wife
“Saturday Night Live” (1975-)
It may have taken eight years, but Kit Harington finally got to host “Saturday Night Live”, and it was one of the funniest episodes in recent years. After a few jabs at his own filmography, Harington opens the floor to questions from the audience. Unfortunately, it seems all anyone cares about is knowing what happens in the final season of “Game of Thrones”. The best part, though, comes when his wife pops up. As hilarious as their exchange is, it does make us wonder what’s next for Harington and Leslie.
#5: Judging Jon Snow Impersonators
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (2003-)
They may not replace the real thing, but impersonators are always entertaining to watch. So, how does Kit Harington feel about Jon Snow impersonators? In June 2015, Harington appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel LIVE” to judge three Jon Snow impersonators. The impressionists took turns reading the back of various products in the character’s voice, and we gotta say, they’re pretty spot-on! Never before have a bottle of shampoo, ad for real estate, or a box of Frosties sounded so epic, and it looks like Kit agrees!
#4: His “Game of Thrones” Auditions
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (2003-)
Ever wonder what “Game of Thrones” would be like if Kit Harington played as more characters? Well, fans of Jimmy Kimmel got a peek into that concept. In July 2017, Harington appeared in a skit on “Jimmy Kimmel LIVE” where he...ahem, “auditioned” for some of the other characters. Whereas some of these were a little on the nose [show Cersei audition], others were just flat out ridiculous [“HODOR! HODOR!”]. He even tries to audition for his wife’s role as Ygritte! Seeing this just made us want a new “Game of Thrones” where everyone looks and talks like Jon Snow.
#3: Trying (& Failing) to be Good at Dinner Parties
“Late Night with Seth Meyers” (2014-)
Sometimes, inviting celebrities to dinner parties isn’t such a hot idea. Take it from Seth Meyers. In a 2015 episode of “Late Night with Seth Meyers”, Meyers brings Harington to a friend’s dinner party, but he comes as Jon Snow. As Meyers and his pals socialize, Jon Snow frequently interrupts to bring the entire mood down. From talking about his tragic backstory to retelling key moments of “Game of Thrones”, Harington -- er, Jon Snow knows how to entertain a crowd even when he’s failing at it. Any chance we could get a dinner party like this?
#2: When He Pranked His Fianceé
“The Jonathan Ross Show” (2011-)
This is a video that every Harington and Leslie fan will never forget. When he appeared on “The Jonathan Ross Show”, Harington shared how he pulled off one of the most hilariously terrifying pranks ever on his own wife. For April Fools Day, Harington placed a replica of his severed head in the fridge. So, when Leslie went to open it…[show reaction]. The prank was so frightening that Leslie said their marriage is over if he does it again. At least she’d get back at him when his next prank backfired; he tricked her into thinking Brexit was forcing her favorite almond milk company to go under, and she ended up bulk ordering. Hope it was worth the 150 quid, Kit!
#1: Battle of the Bastards
“Game of Thrones” (2011-19)
Try telling Jon Snow he knows nothing after viewing this episode! “Battle of the Bastards” was one of the most savage battles across “Game of Thrones”, and it showed Jon Snow at his most vicious. With bloody battles and excellent writing, “Battle of the Bastards” is entertaining to watch until the very end, and it provides us with many memorable moments (i.e. Jon Snow beating the ever-loving s*** out of Ramsey!). Harington’s performance is top-notch throughout, and its part of the reason why “Battle of the Bastards” remains to be his stand-out moment in the series.
