Top 3 Things You Missed in the It: Chapter Two Trailer

You’ll float two… Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 3 Things You Missed in the It: Chapter Two final trailer.

For this list, we’ll be taking a look at some of the small details, references, and Easter eggs in the final trailer for “IT: Chapter 2.”

Adult Stan

There may be a lot we don’t know after this trailer for It Chapter Two, but one thing we do know, is that Andy Muschietti and co. did not shy away from using a LOT of blood. One shot in particular which features a bloodied hand hanging out of a bathtub may leave some viewers scratching their heads. In the book, as the Losers Club are preparing to reunite, we are met with a scene where Stan, contemplating returning to fight Pennywise, commits suicide in a bathtub. Bringing Pennywise’s kill count up another victim, this scene motivates the Losers Club in their return to Derry, and wanting to avenge the death of their friend.

Adrian Mellon

Early on in the trailer, we see a man drowning in the sewers, while Pennywise lurks over him at the curl of every wave. This scene may remind readers of Adrian Mellon, an openly gay character who is the victim of a hate crime when he gets beaten up and tossed over a bridge by three homophobic townspeople. Mellon then has a run in with Pennywise who brutally murders Adrian, sending him to the same watery grave as so many unfortunate other Derry residents. We can’t be the only ones curious to see how they will pull off this grisly scene from the book.

Smoke Hole

We may not ever get a fully fleshed out origin of the entity known as It in Stephen King’s book, but the infamous “smoke hole” scene comes pretty damn close. At the lowest point in the childrens’ fight against Pennywise, the Losers Club takes inspiration from smoke holes used by Native Americans, and build one of their own to benefit from its hallucinogenic properties. Of course, this leads readers to find out a little of It’s backstory, which tells of the evil force arriving in Derry millions of years ago. Judging by the numerous psychedelic drug fuelled images in this new preview, it looks like we may just get this scene in It’s second instalment.
