Since the early nineteenth century, the Irish mafia has been a presence in North America. Known for their finesse, the Irish mob was often called upon by other crime syndicates – like the traditional Italian mafia, for example – to pull off extraordinary crimes, in exchange for a piece of the pie. In Canada, the majority of Irish immigrants settled in Montreal, giving that city its own Irish mob called the West End Gang. They proved to be one of the country's most powerful crime groups in their heyday. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com speaks with author D'Arcy O'Connor about the history of the Irish mob in North America, from Boston and New York, to Montreal.
