Welcome to MojoPlays, and today were walking through our picks for the most fun missions and moments in Assassins Creed. Minor spoilers ahead, so consider yourselves warned!
Lightning and Thunder
Assassins Creed Shadows (2025)
Lightning and Thunder is the first mission in Assassins Creed Shadows where we get control back of Yasuke after the start of the game. Its an awesome moment with high emotional stakes thanks to the game building up to it. If youve played Yasukes backstory before this quest, its even more awesome. Its a typical Samurai-in-the-rain trope, but its perfectly executed. As the thunders roaring in the background, Yasuke steps up to save Junjiro and Naoe... Then the music turns up and the badassery begins! Its hard not to have fun.
The Battle of Bunker Hill
Assassins Creed III (2012)
Its just awesome when Assassins Creed integrates historical events into the games, and if the promo material for AC3 made us wanna do one thing, itd be to fight alongside the Continental army like in the cinematic trailer! Well, we got what we wished for as we get to fight with real life American military officer Israel Putnam in the Battle of Bunker Hill. Its an incredibly dynamic mission, and its Assassins Creed at its best. And Connors the perfect vessel for us to experience it through as well! Overall, its the most fun mission in Assassins Creed 3.
Pax Romana
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (2010)
Pax Romana in Assassins Creed Brotherhood sees us finally come face-to-face with Cesare Borgia in a direct confrontation. Its a moment youve waited for all throughout the entire game since the game starts with it and flashes back until you reach that point again. Finally we get the chance to avenge Mario. After fighting through hundreds of Cesares soldiers, we get to fight the man himself as we slowly strip away his armor. One cool thing of note is that Cesare is the only target to directly refuse Ezios Requiscat in pace as he tells us no man can murder him, to which Ezio has the most epic response in the whole series.
End of the Road
Assassins Creed Revelations (2011)
Fast and Furious better watch out, because Ezios got a horse carriage. While Assassins Creed doesnt have any car chases yet, we do have Ezio chasing Ahmet down as he tries to leave with the Masyaf Keys. Its yet another masterfully crafted dynamic story mission, and youre basically playing pseudo-burnout as you crash into enemy carriages to break them. Itll quickly transition to a paragliding section while Ezio turns into the most deadly bird on planet earth, picking off enemies from his parachute. The chase culminates in a dramatic fall and fight between Ezio and Ahmet, which luckily gets broken thanks to Da Vincis invention. If that wasnt enough, as we think its over, the Sultan comes by and takes out Ahmet for good in a wild plot twist!
The Tea Ceremony
Assassins Creed Shadows (2025)
As Shadows slowly embeds us into Sengoku traditions, we get a mission fairly early on called The Tea Ceremony. The premise is awesome; figure out the identity of The Golden Teppo, one of the people Naoes seeking revenge against. It could be anyone at the ceremony, but before that we must first learn the art of the tea ceremony itself so as to not raise suspicion about who we really are. Its a classic whodunit, and well need to make a choice of who we think the real culprit is, which becomes pretty difficult to discern based on their personalities. Overall, its a fun mission that works in the games setting while also having us explore Japanese culture!
A Spanner in the Works
Assassins Creed Syndicate (2015)
As we can all agree on, the Assassins Creed games always start out with a bang. Theyre good at setting up emotional stakes from the get-go, or just letting us have fun right then and there. This is especially prevalent in titles like Assassins Creed Syndicate. After a show-style intro cutscene, were dropped directly into the lives of the Frye twins in the midst of being told off by a fellow Assassin before infiltrating a factory. We take down our target; the evil owner of the iron factory, and make our escape by hopping on top of a moving train in one of the most bombastic intros to an Assassins Creed game yet.
Viking Raids
Assassins Creed Valhalla (2020)
Assassins Creed Valhalla has us in control of Eivor, who probably couldnt care less about The Creed, although they are our friends. It takes place around 875 AD during the Viking conquest of England, and WE are the Viking. So it makes sense then that were tasked with rampaging and pillaging for the sake of garnering more supplies to further develop our camp and settlement. Valhalla just wouldnt feel like a Viking game without its extremely fun raids!
Lisbon Earthquake
Assassins Creed Rogue (2014)
Early on in Assassins Creed Rogue during Sequence 2s Memory 4, we play through a mission called Kyrie Eleison. Still working for the Brotherhood, Shay is sent to the city of Lisbon to uncover an Isu artifact. Its a special mission that marks the turning point for Shays conversion into the Templar Order, as he had never imagined the Assassins would be so reckless. As he recovers the artifact, a massive earthquake erupts and the whole city starts to crumble. Hundreds of thousands dead, all because the Assassins were reckless. Yet overall, its a fun mission, and the escape sequence proves to be one of the best parkour set pieces weve had so far!
The Escape
Assassins Creed Unity (2014)
If youve played Assassins Creed Unity, theres no way youd forget the mission titled The Escape. But for those that havent; in Sequence 9s Mission 3 Arno and Elise are cornered and forced to run, when they happen to come across a man presenting a peculiar new invention to a crowd of citizens A hot air balloon! Elise immediately gets on and tells us to cut the ropes, and the fun begins. We make our way across Paris rooftops desperately trying to keep up with Elise in the air balloon, eventually catching up and getting on ourselves. Its one of the most fun chase missions in all of Assassins Creed, and its topped with a bit of romance at the end.
The Treasure Fleet
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)
Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag stands out even among its peers as an absolutely phenomenal game. Its one of the best pirate games of all time, and thats saying something! In Sequence 2s Memory 6, also known as The Treasure Fleet, Edwards disguise comes undone and we find ourselves captured on a ship. We break free together with the help of Adewale, and he helps us steal one of the ships for ourselves - for what is a pirate without a ship? And we then get control over our own ship for the first time, with an absolutely amazing gameplay system. Were then tasked to escape the rest of the fleet through a storm. Its the perfect mission to set up the rest of the story, and of course its loads of fun. Lets go pirating!
