How to Make S'mores Brownies

One of the best parts of camping is crowding around a roaring campfire and roasting marshmallows for a S’more. Toasty, gooey marshmallows and melty chocolate sandwiched between two graham crackers are a really decadent, messy and delicious treat. Unfortunately, we’re not always near a campfire and can’t roast marshmallows on a whim. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy these great flavors at home whenever the mood strikes you. By mixing marshmallows, graham cracker pieces and chocolate chunks, and then throwing those on top of almost-cooked brownies, you’ll have an even richer dessert. Recipe: How to Make S’mores Brownies


This campfire treat traditionally features graham crackers, melted chocolate and toasted marshmallows.

Ingredients:

- 1 package of brownie mix
- 6 graham crackers, plus enough to cover the bottom of a 9x13-inch pan
- 1 ½ cups of mini marshmallows
- 8 coarsely chopped milk chocolate bars

Directions:

1. After preheating your oven to 350°F, and then grease a 9x13-inch pan.
2. Next, line the bottom of your pan with a single layer of graham crackers.
3. Prepare your brownie mix according to the directions on the box, and pour it into your prepared pan.
4. Now, bake your brownies for 15 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, while your brownies are in the oven, prepare your s’mores topping. Break your graham crackers into 1-inch pieces, and toss them with your marshmallows and the coarsely chopped chocolate in a small bowl.
6. Once your brownies have been in the oven for 15 minutes, take them out and cover the top with your s’more mix.
7. Then bake them for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Allow them to cool and then cut them into squares.
If you are lucky enough to be near a campfire, be sure to toast your marshmallow first then stack it on a graham cracker topped with milk chocolate.
