Though the name of the genre may have changed throughout the years, Kelley Armstrong is a fantasy writer. Vampires and werewolves inhabit her worlds, and her popular Women of the Otherworld series follows these and other characters as they attempt to lead 'normal' lives. She was originally inspired to write about werewolves as she watched an episode of the X-Files – and in her opinion, their depiction of werewolves was false.
