“The Dark Knight Returns” may be the most influential Batman miniseries ever published. The source material had such an epic story that Warner Bros. Animation couldn’t cover everything in 76 minutes. They ultimately delivered a riveting two-parter that faithfully adapted one of Batman’s most essential stories on the printed page. So, we only put it at #10 on our list. Commenters argued that this entry was far too low, especially considering that we placed “Batman Ninja” higher. It’s also inconsistent with another list from 2017, Top 10 Best DC Animated Films, which had “Dark Knight Returns” at #2. At the very least, “Dark Knight Returns” should’ve been among our Top 5 Animated Batman Movies, but we still say nothing tops “Mask of the Phantasm.”

WatchMojo likes to see things from different perspectives. When we ranked “Game of Thrones” #1 on our Worst Series Finales, we got to thinking, was it completely irredeemable? After letting the finale sit for two years, we made this list to see if we were too quick to judge. And… yeah, we were right the first time. Although we tried arguing that the finale isn’t as bad as you remember, let’s be honest. It’s still a colossal letdown. Many commenters found the finale so infuriating that they can’t even rewatch “Game of Thrones.” For all the water-cooler moments, we’re just setting ourselves up to be disappointed all over again. We should just rewatch “Parks and Recreation” instead. Even that show pitched a better “GOT” finale.

Speaking of finales, 2021 said goodbye to several great shows, including “Shameless,” “DuckTales,” and “Supergirl.” However, we jumped the gun with some of these entries. When we made the list in January 2021, it looked like “Dead to Me,” “Ozark,” and “Better Call Saul” were on track to wrap up by the year’s conclusion. However, it’s since been confirmed that they won’t debut their final seasons until 2022. We’ll also have to wait to see “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Uncharted,” which were among our Most Anticipated Action Movies of 2021. On top of that, we said in the video that we already know what happens to Nacho based on a line from “Breaking Bad,” but his fate is really more ambiguous than we suggested.

Well, here’s an embarrassing mistake. On our list of the Top 20 Best James Bond Gadgets, we singled out Francisco Scaramanga’s henchman in “The Man with the Golden Gun,” Tattoo. The thing is, though, the character’s name isn’t Tattoo! It’s Nick Nack. Tattoo was another character that Hervé Villechaize portrayed on the “Fantasy Island” TV series. Villechaize played assistants on both occasions and both projects have exotic island settings. So, you can see how we might’ve gotten mixed up. Regardless, a mistake is a mistake, and we definitely missed the plane on this one. If you want to learn more about Villechaize’s life and career, check out the biopic “My Dinner with Hervé.” It’s one HBO property starring Peter Dinklage that won’t leave you disappointed.

In retrospect, we probably should’ve waited until after the “WandaVision” finale to produce this list. Published about two weeks before “WandaVision” wrapped up, we let our theories get the better of us. “WandaVision” didn’t explicitly set up Mephisto for “Multiverse of Madness.” Our whole “Dottie being Clea” theory was way off base. As for “WandaVision” bringing the X-Men into the MCU, let’s just say that we made a “Bohner” move. While Wanda will play a prominent role in “Doctor Strange 2,” her madness isn’t what leads to the Multiverse being unleashed. We have Sylvie to thank for that. Wanda didn’t release the Spider-Verse either. Maybe some of these theories could still come to fruition, but there’s a lot about this list we’d like to forget.

When you consider the worst Nintendo games of the 21st century so far, what titles come to mind? “Pokemon Channel?” Sure. “3D Classics: Urban Champion?” Why would you remake that? “Mario Sunshine?” … wait, how did that get in there? To our credit, we acknowledge “Mario Sunshine” isn’t a bad game. It’s just not as good as “Metroid Prime” or “Eternal Darkness,” which were also released that year. Then again, so was the middling “Mario Party 4,” just one of several games that would’ve been “worthier” of this list. Adding insult to injury, we technically had “Sunshine” on here twice, as “Mario 3D All-Stars” was included. At least this list had no other controversial picks… except “Nintendogs,” “Wii Sports Resort,” and “Nintendo Land”... among others.

We actually got some positive feedback on our Top 10 Hololive Vtubers - that’s “virtual YouTuber” in case you’re not in the loop. Terarerarera even wrote in the comments that the video was “well made and informed.” So, what’s with the 11K downvotes? Well, as Terarerarera goes on to explain, this community doesn’t believe in “ranking” Vtubers. Thus, everyone agreed across the board that COVER Corporation CEO “Yagoo” is “the best girl,” even though he’s “a middle-age non-virtual Japanese gentleman,” as Terarerarera puts it. As for everyone else, they’re eternally tied for second place. Yagoo didn’t even make our list, but thanks for showing us the error of our ways. You should still check out every Vtuber on here, just not in any particular order.

Sometimes we shoot ourselves in the foot with these “theories” lists. For everything we correctly predict, there are several other theories that wind up being totally off-base. We mean, Godzilla Jr.? As if that theory wasn’t inaccurate enough, we had to make our thumbnail for the whole YouTube community to see. There was no “Titan Serial Killer,” although we would kind of like to see a movie where another monster frames Godzilla for murder. We were on the right track with a few theories, like Mechagodzilla being in the movie. However, Mechagodzilla wasn’t the one attacking APEX facilities. He did destroy their CEO, however. Whether you were rooting for Gozilla or Kong, we definitely don’t feel like winners looking back at some of these choices.

Occasionally people tell us that our choices are too obvious. Other times, they point out obvious picks that we somehow overlooked. Obviously, WatchMojo can’t please everyone, but even we can’t believe “Parasite” didn’t make this list. For many, it’s become the textbook definition of a movie that changes genre halfway in. Since we want you to experience the twist for yourself, we won’t delve too deep into spoiler territory. What we will say is that this Best Picture winner effortlessly transitions between being a dark comedy and a suspense thriller all while delivering thought-provoking social commentary. It’s ironic that a lot of audiences went in expecting a horror film, got something completely different, and then kind of got what they paid for in the end.

From “Safe Haven” to “Iron Man 3,” we think much of this list was spot-on, but virtually everyone agrees that “Ready or Not” had no business being here. Unlike our previous entry, we need to reveal this film’s ending. So, a last-minute spoiler alert! In a nutshell, the Le Domases fail to bump off Grace before sunrise... and the curse explodes them. We argued that this ending “undermines the entire chase.” Considering how over-the-top the rest of the film is, though, we suppose this gut-busting finale was quite fitting. Some would debate if it’s even a twist because we figured something bad would happen to the Le Domases. However you look at it, the ending doesn’t ruin everything, but its inclusion here ruined this list.
