The most fashionable rom-com characters will have you falling in love with their wardrobe. Our countdown includes "13 Going on 30," "Legally Blonde," "Sex and the City," and more!

#10: Summer Finn “500 Days of Summer” (2009)

Top 10 Memorable 500 Days of Summer Moments

Summer has a quirky, vintage, and gentle style. She wears a lot of dresses, and her clothes incorporate sweet elements like ruffles or lace to create a delicate look. The colors she chooses are typically soft ones, like her signature baby blue and neutrals. And even when she wears darker colors, her clothes are never flashy. This was done intentionally. In fact, bolder colors like red were excluded from her wardrobe. And though the film takes place in the 2000s, the fashion evokes a different era. Interestingly, costume designer Hope Hanafin said that Summer’s clothes, while stylish, also remain modest to reflect her lifestyle. Instead of being aspirational, her apparel choices are rooted in reality. Overall, Summer’s style can be described as retro meets feminine.

#9: Jenna Rink “13 Going on 30” (2004)

When the teenager wakes up as a 30 year old, Jenna has to adjust to life as a woman. That includes figuring out what to wear too. At first, Jenna's wardrobe is fun and cute, with a youthful vibe. It’s fitting, considering she's quite literally still a child at heart here. The multicolor Versace dress she's wearing when she does the "Thriller" dance is unforgettable, to say the least. Throughout the story, she has to find who she truly is again. According to Susie DeSanto, the mind behind the clothes, Jenna’s style changes as she carves out her identity and falls in love. It effectively becomes more toned down - though no less fashionable - as she opts for more classic and feminine looks.

#8: Rebecca Bloomwood “Confessions of a Shopaholic” (2009)

In a movie about the dangers of spending too much money shopping, it's no wonder that the main character is a serious style icon. Rebecca uses her personal style as a way to express herself. Because while some people may view clothes as nothing more than a means to an end, she sees fashion as exciting and fun. Her looks are striking, over the top, and lively, just like her. And she knows just how important the right accessories are in making an outfit - iconic green scarf, anyone? Rebecca’s clothes are colorful and bold, so that she always stands out in a crowd. This story may have been a cautionary tale, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t have major closet envy.

#7: Stella Payne “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” (1998)

Stella is an affluent stockbroker and mother, and doesn’t have a lot of time to waste. In other words, she’s someone who tends to put herself last. And at the start of the film, she doesn’t give herself much room to enjoy the little things in life. But a trip to Jamaica changes all of that with love turning her world upside down in the best possible way. Gradually, she begins to open up to Winston, and to herself. So she sets out to create a more balanced life. This is reflected in her style, which evolves alongside her - starting out very professional and gradually loosening up to become more colorful and vibrant as she lets go. Nobody does island fashion better.

#6: Elle Woods “Legally Blonde” (2001)

Top 10 Best Elle Woods Outfits in Legally Blonde

Elle is a peak 2000s fashionista. She shows everyone just how fun and stylish pink girly outfits can be, rocking them shamelessly and flawlessly. Just because you're in law school, doesn't mean your wardrobe has to be bland. Elle makes that obvious with all of her looks. From her amazing first day of class outfit to the striking pink ensemble she wears to court, her outfits reflect her bubbly and determined personality perfectly. She goes against the grain. While everyone mocks her at first, she ultimately shows them just “how valuable Elle Woods can be”. She is proof that you don’t have to choose between being a fun person with an exciting and colorful wardrobe, and being a smart professional.

#5: Carrie Bradshaw “Sex and the City” (2008)

Carrie Fisher’s Death, the New Alien: Covenant Trailer & Dunkirk’s New Star – The CineFiles Ep. 1

Bradshaw is a classic New York City style icon with a closet most people would only ever dream of. This was true in the TV series, and even more so in the two films. She always makes a statement, whether it be through bold flower accents, an extravagant wedding gown, or a courthouse-chic look. The pieces Carrie wears, and the way she accessorizes them, ensure you always get something different and unique from her. And while Bradshaw is the most evidently interested in fashion, there’s no doubt that Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha are all trendsetters in their own right as well. This is one well-dressed group of friends, to put it mildly.

#4: Miranda Priestly “The Devil Wears Prada” (2006)

Also in:

Top 10 Most Epic Miranda Priestly Moments

Miranda's style is very classic, posh, and put together. It’s not surprising considering she’s the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. She's the boss, and she makes sure to dress like it. Her outfits, many of which are Donna Karan pieces, are elegant and alluring. You can tell just by looking at her that she means business. There's also not a whole lot of color in her wardrobe, which adds a high-end and intimidating feel to her looks. This matches her (at least initially) closed off personality. According to the woman behind the costumes, Patricia Field, making sure Priestly’s outfits were uniquely stylish while remaining timeless was a priority in creating her aesthetic. In other words, Miranda Priestly is the queen of office glam.

#3: Fanny Brice “Funny Girl” (1968)

Barbra Streisand brought real life actress-singer-comedienne Fanny Brice to life in this film, and she did so with great style. This character is multi-talented, and her clothes play an important role in illustrating just how good she is at what she does. Her outfits throughout the film are glamorous and glitzy. Not to mention they are always elegant showstoppers. Who could ever forget her iconic bridal skit look, or the lively orange piece she wears while singing “Don’t Rain On My Parade”? And that’s just naming a few of her classic ensembles. In other words, she dons styles fit for a star, which is appropriate given how she is one herself. As Fanny herself would say: hello, gorgeous.

#2: Astrid Leong “Crazy Rich Asians” (2018)

Astrid is literally described as a "fashion icon" in the film. You could pick out anything she wears in the movie, like her pink Alexander McQueen dress, to understand why. Another one of her notable outfits is the Christian Dior dress we meet her in. She certainly makes an entrance with that elegant piece. Through Astrid’s outfits, it becomes obvious that she’s the kind of graceful and successful woman that would probably intimidate most people because of how perfect she seems. Her clothes are truly a status symbol. They show people she’s an accomplished woman before she even speaks. Of course, nobody’s life is that simple. But while her love life might be in shambles, her outfits never are. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. Annie Hall, “Annie Hall” (1977) With Her Androgynous Style Mary Fiore, “The Wedding Planner” (2001) With Her Soft & Feminine, Yet Professional Looks Andie Anderson, “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” (2003) With Her Stunning Floor-Length Yellow Dress Vivian Ward, “Pretty Woman” (1990) With Her Effortlessly Chic Outfits The Girl, “The Seven Year Itch” (1955) With Her Iconic Pleated Dress

#1: Holly Golightly “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (1961)

Her black Givenchy dress, paired with pearls and oversized sunglasses alongside a flawless updo, has become instantly recognizable. That's just one example of Holly’s classic ‘60s style. All of her looks, from this opening scene ensemble, to her sleepwear to her pink rhinestone dress, raised the bar for fashion in film. People today still try to emulate Golightly. Interestingly, Truman Capote originally wanted Marilyn Monroe for the role. But Audrey Hephurn really made it her own through her unique style and fashion connections. With her consistently sophisticated and refined looks, Holly became the epitome of class and glamor. It’s no wonder modern-day style icons, both real and fictional, often reference her.
