It’s official, “Batwoman” will be a featured series on the CW next season, making it the first live-action series with a lesbian superhero at the forefront, on top of being played by an out actress, Ruby Rose. This DC Comics spin-off drama is being widely celebrated on social media and we’ve got all the Twitter cheers below. But first, take a look at the brief and tension-building teaser trailer!

“Batwoman” first made her TV debut during last December’s “Elseworlds”, The CW’s annual three-way DC Comics crossover series. Her performance and character clearly left a mark as she is now set to join the network’s upcoming 2019-2020 season, alongside returning DC favorites like “Arrow”, “Black Lightning”, “The Flash”, “Legends of Tomorrow” and “Supergirl”.

Until the series premiere drops, check out what the internet is saying about this brand new heroic debut, the show’s potential for promoting LGBTQ superheroes and the CW’s other roster of upcoming shows including a “Riverdale” spin-off called “Katy Keene” and a “Nancy Drew” series!
