Take a Closer Look at Netflix’s Upcoming Biographical Crime Drama
Directed by Joe Berlinger, who recently brought us the Netflix series “Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes”, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” is his next venture into bringing the serial killer’s horrendous story to the screen. In this new trailer for the crime biopic, Zac Efron takes on the disturbing role of Ted Bundy, while we follow the perspective of his girlfriend Liz Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins, and her difficult journey to uncover the truth.
The trailer opens with Liz visiting Bundy in prison during his trial, after which we’re brought through a flashback sequence that touches on their early relationship and his initial encounters with numerous young women. Bundy’s refusal to confess is also highlighted when Liz asks if he is guilty of the crimes he’s being accused of, to which he declares without hesitation, “No.”
Between dramatic trial scenes, Liz’s chilling memories, clips of the aftermath and an exploration of the public’s disbelief based on his physical appearance, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” looks to be a terrifyingly revealing exposition. The film will be available on Netflix May 3rd and features appearances from Kaya Scodelario, Jeffrey Donovan, Angela Sarafyan, Dylan Baker, Brian Geraghty, Jim Parsons, John Malkovich and Haley Joel Osment.
