The Continent’s Most Famous Faces
The reveal of Henry Cavill donning the silver locks of the White Wolf has only further cemented his status as the definitive live-action Geralt of Rivia. While we’re still a good year away from getting any kind of solid look at Netflix’s upcoming fantasy epic, we can at least start pondering which characters from the Witcher’s extensive line-up will end up making it. While we know that Yennefer and Ciri have already been selected, we’re hoping that some of these iconic faces also get their shot at the small screen.
#3: Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy
There’s no vampire quite like Regis, whose charm and gentlemanly nature made him the ideal ally to have during the course of Blood and Wine’s gruesome narrative. We’re not sure how many long-clawed creatures of the night that Geralt will encounter on his travels, but it would still be awesome to at least see him make a cameo. Who else do you know that appear in a burst of crimson mist, brush off a gaping wound and then offer a guest a nice little homebrew?
#2: Gauter O’Dimm
Outside of numerous monsters that would scare the soul out of an ordinary person, Geralt has also encountered his fair share of terrifying humanoid villains who can often match the likes of a Leshen in the fright department. While the Wild Hunt, Radovid the Mad, Letho of Gulet and Dettlaff van der Eretei all qualify in this regard, none are quite as entertaining as this malevolent entity. A type of djinn whose wishes often lead to death, Gauter’s powers seem beyond the pale of powerful, only matched by his sick sense of humor. You’re damn right we want to see him make an appearance!
#1: Dandelion
It just wouldn’t be The Witcher without Dandelion. He may be one of the most useless sidekicks to ever exist, have more ex-lovers than humanly possible and whose ballads are in dire need of a tune up, but you just can’t hate the guy. He is so brilliantly transparent with his hare-brained schemes and flashy wardrobe that watching him fumble around on screen would be an utter delight!
