Things Are About To Get Gritty In A Galaxy Far, Far Away
Fans of the Expanded Universe can probably provide entire essays on how and why the Mandalorians are the most hardcore and badass race in the Star Wars mythos. Same with those who have always had an appreciation for the likes of Boba Fett’s character. However, even for those that don’t know what the word Mandalore means, there’s still brewing excitement on all sides now that we have seen our first teaser for Jon Favreau’s upcoming spin-off.

The first image from Jon Favreau’s live-action Star Wars series has been revealed.
Favreau announced Wednesday details of the series, saying it will focus on Mandalorians and will take place after the stories of Jango and Boba Fett. It will focus on a “lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.”
Star Wars revealed more details about The Mandalorian, including that it is specifically set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order.
The series will be written and executive produced by Iron Man director Favreau, with Dave Filoni, executive producer of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and creator of Star Wars Rebels, directing the first episode.
Other directors that will helm episodes in Season 1 include Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi, Jessica Jones’ Deborah Chow, Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa, and Bryce Dallas Howard, who has directed a number of shorts in addition to her work in front of the camera.
Given how the series has an astronomical budget of a hundred million dollars, we can certainly expect the aesthetics to be top notch. We’re just hoping that Favreau brings his magic touch to the project and is able to provide the same entertainment an darkness we saw in Rogue One.Â
