This Series Is A SMAAAASH Hit!
Just when you thought the superheroe genre had been done to death, along comes an anime that manages to turn the whole thing on its head!
While earlier hits such as One Punch Man certainly had a jab at various cliches, My Hero Academia seems to have transcended all tropes by becoming a show that both critiques and embraces everything about superheroes. As a result, it’s become an animated phenomenon and one of the best examples of the genre to date!
Best of all? We don’t have to wait long for a third season to come out!
According to an article on Anime News Network –
The “My Hero Academia: U.A. School [Heroes’ Cultural] Festival” event confirmed on Sunday that the third season of the My Hero Academia anime will premiere next April. The event also revealed a new visual drawn by character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi.
The third season will remain at the 5:30 p.m. timeslot on Saturdays that the second season held on YTV, NTV, and 27 other network affiliates.
The new season will cover the forest school trip arc from KÅhei Horikoshi‘s original manga. Funimation will stream the third season of the anime.
The second season premiered in Japanese with English subtitles on Crunchyroll and Hulu on April 1, and Funimation Now streamed the English dub. The anime’s first 13-episode season premiered in April 2016.
Horikoshi launched the superhero manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014, and Shueisha published the 16th compiled volume on November 2. The manga’s 13th and 14th compiled book volumes bothbundled an original anime
As you can imagine, we can’t wait to see it! After all, it seems like we are finally building towards an epic clash between the likes of the U.A High students and the League of Villains. That…and one can never have too much All Might!
