#10: Her Famous Friends

The TikTok star might be a recent addition to the celebrity landscape, but Addison has proven to be quite good at teaming up with other well known figures. Naturally, Addison collaborates frequently with other TikTokers, but the celebrity has also struck a friendship with the Kardashians, particularly Kourtney. The two have even teamed up on occasion to create TikToks, making for some rather hilarious skits. Addison has hit it off with other stars too, also having collaborated with Jason Derulo and James Charles for a video or two. Addison is clearly someone people like to have around.

#9: She Wanted to Be a Sports Broadcaster

Ever since taking off on TikTok, Addison has embraced the life of an LA influencer. As difficult as it is to imagine the TikToker outside of her platform, Addison’s rise to stardom actually coincided with the start of her college career. Before TikTok completely changed her life, Addison enrolled at Louisiana State University and began a course in sports broadcasting. An experienced athlete, Addison managed to earn a scholarship to the university. After a few months, Addison decided to resign from LSU and move to Los Angeles to focus on TikTok.

#8: She’s From Lafayette, Louisiana

As the entertainment world revolves around Los Angeles, the City of Angels is Addison Rae's current home, but the social media influencer was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. In a podcast with her mother, Addison expanded on her life before TikTok. The celebrity spoke about growing up in Louisiana, moving to North Houston in Texas for two years, before heading back to a different part of her home state just before eighth grade. With a recognizable southern accent and a pretty down to earth attitude, Addison's upbringing influences each one of her videos.

#7: She Was Bullied

Due to moving around quite a bit during her childhood and teenage years, Addison often found herself as the new kid at school, which is never easy. In the first episode of the "Mama Knows Best" podcast, Addison spoke briefly about being bullied at multiple schools and struggling to make friends. In one case, Addison found herself targeted for simply owning Bearpaw shoes rather than UGGs. Since becoming a famous face, Addison has often taken to Twitter to speak out against bullying and has openly discussed her body image insecurities.

#6: A TikTok Family

If there is one thing that Addison's videos make crystal clear, it’s that the TikToker is very close to her parents. Addison's mother and father often show up in the star's TikTok videos, and those clips tend to attract millions upon millions of views and likes. Along with occasionally appearing in Addison's videos, Sheri Easterling and Monty Lopez also have their own TikTok accounts that have a few million followers. Addison might have got the ball rolling, but her entire family seems to be tailor-made for the social media platform.

#5: Item Beauty

TikTok is just the start for Addison Rae. Along with attracting some major sponsorship deals, in August of 2020, Addison rolled out a cosmetic line that echoes the content creator's positive attitude and background. Inspired by her history as a competitive dancer and her mother's work as a makeup artist, Addison unleashed the "Item Beauty" cosmetic line onto the world. "Item Beauty" offers a clean cosmetic option and aims to highlight a person's individuality. Addison's cosmetic line demonstrates the celebrity's willingness to explore the different opportunities presented by her TikTok success.

#4: She’s Set to Star in “He’s All That”

Addison's dancing skills have been on full display for the whole world to see, but the celebrity is trying to diversify her portfolio by exploring other avenues. Looking to break into the world of acting, Addison hit the ground running by earning a prominent role in the upcoming remake of "She's All That." A modern retelling of the late '90s teen rom-com, "He's All That" will turn things on its head by swapping the genders of the lead roles. Addison will be portraying an influencer who tries to turn an unpopular boy into the prom king, which seems like a perfect role for the celebrity.

#3: She’s Been Dancing Her Whole Life

While there are countless ways to hit it big on TikTok, it does help to know a dance move or two. The majority of Addison's videos revolve around brief dances, and they tend to be pretty awesome. Along with just being well-choreographed, Addison performs these routines with all the confidence of a seasoned pro, which the celebrity kind of is. In the "Mama Knows Best" podcast, Addison confirmed that she has been a competitive dancer since the age of six. Although Addison dabbled in other fields like gymnastics and cheerleading, dancing was the TikToker's focus.

#2: Rejected By LSU’s Tiger Girls

Even though Addison's dance moves have been seen and liked by millions of people, that doesn’t mean that the celebrity has never faced rejection. During her high school senior year, Addison skipped out on prom to try out for Louisiana State University's dance team, the Tiger Girls. One of the reasons Addison wanted to go to LSU was to be a Tiger Girl, but the TikTok star fell short at the tryouts and did not make the cut. Considering where she is now, it's safe to say that Addison bounced back well from this setback.

#1: She Joined TikTok in July 2019

Considering Addison Rae uploaded her first TikTok in July 2019, the influencer's rise has been nothing short of meteoric. While her videos gained traction almost immediately, the TikToks that really put Addison on the map were those featuring her mother. After lip-synching to the likes of YunggTez's "No Reason" and Mariah Carey's "Obsession," the mom and daughter combo teamed up for a Megan Thee Stallion song and went viral. In around a year, Addison Rae amassed more than 30 million followers on Instagram, over 60 million followers on TikTok and, according to Forbes, became the platform’s highest earner.
