Top 10 Reveals in Netflixs Unreal Or Things We Didnt Need to Know

Welcome to MsMojo, and today were looking at the biggest bombshells that WWE: Unreal dropped on fans, whether they loved it or not.

#10: iShowSpeeds Legitimate Royal Rumble Injury

iShowSpeeds surprise entry during the 2025 Royal Rumble broke the internet. But while it seemed spontaneous, Triple H had the entire moment planned to the most minute detail. It worked like a charm, as Speeds involvement and quick elimination racked up millions of views online. Still, Speed didnt walk away unscathed. Backstage footage showed the social media personality nursing a deep gash on his leg, leaving him visibly shocked and in pain. Although neither Speed nor WWE publicly highlighted this injury, Unreal showed just how bad the damage was. It goes to show that no matter how meticulously rehearsed a spot might be, no one is ever truly safe in a high-risk contact sport like pro wrestling.

#9: Kayfabe Ends Beyond the Mat

Unreal not only gives us a peek behind the curtain, it rips it down completely. Showing wrestlers hanging out before and after going to war in the ring strips away the investment fans have in their storylines. While heartwarming in their own way, these moments undermine the foundation of pro wrestlings long-enduring legacy. Scenes like Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley praising each others gear before their WrestleMania match, or Kevin Owens apologizing to Cody Rhodes for a mishandled spot at the Royal Rumble are the kind of things that wrestling purists would rather never have seen. Sure, we all know the pro wrestling world is for show, but maintaining kayfabe is like preserving the trust between performers and the viewing audience.

#8: WrestleMania 41 Almost Looked Completely Different

Any wrestling fan worth their salt knows one universal truth: plans always change. Nothing proves this more than the original WrestleMania 41 card, which looked almost nothing like the one we got. During a segment of the writers room, a whiteboard features a rough rundown of the initial lineup. The Night 1 main event involved Rollins and Reigns, leaving CM Punk to face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. Becky Lynch was paired with Charlotte Flair against Asuka and Io Sky, while Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley were booked in a championship match. But the biggest bombshell was Stone Cold Steve Austin's role as the special guest referee for a bout between Bron Breakker and Drew McIntyre.

#7: Original Plans for the Womens Royal Rumble Had an Unprecedented Twist

Charlotte Flairs Royal Rumble win garnered a mixed response at best. But had things unfolded as envisioned, the Rumble wouldve been truly unforgettable. Originally, Bianca Belair was set to become the first two-time Rumble winner. However, when that was scrapped, WWE briefly considered one of the wildest twists we would have ever seen. After a prolonged battle, entrants 28 and 29 would eliminate each other, leaving the final participant as the de facto winner. The intended victor, Chelsea Green, would have punched her ticket to WrestleMania without even entering the match. Had WWE committed to such an outrageously unprecedented idea, fan response couldve ranged from absolute awe to a total meltdown. Then again, theres always next year

#6: Gorilla Position

While you might think the ring is the center of the WWE Universe, its actually the staging area just behind the entrance ramp, known as the Gorilla Position. Nearly every single moment is carefully curated here. From promos to matches to relaying instructions to talent via referees, producers control all aspects of the product from behind their screens. Things can get pretty stressful, as seen when Christopher Joseph Park better known as Abyss felt the heat when a match he produced ran into overtime. But despite all the pressure, its the place that unites everyone involved. Talent are greeted with praise and feedback each time they step back through the curtain. All things considered, Gorilla Position is the beating heart of WWEs entire operation.

#5: CM Punks Issues with Triple H

For over a decade, fans speculated about why CM Punk had walked out of the WWE. While tensions between Punk and Triple H were no secret, Unreal confirms it as the core reason for his exit. According to Punk, he couldnt accept Triple H as an authority figure, having started his main roster run as his peer. The shift in power made it difficult for Punk to navigate their new dynamic. Even more surprisingly, Triple H revealed that he and Punk had discussed a potential return long before it ultimately happened. At the time, neither was willing to move past their differences. However, both had evolved by the time Punk was dismissed from AEW, letting bygones be bygones and doing whats best for business.

#4: Jey Usos Last-Minute Road to WrestleMania

CM Punk was originally booked to face Gunther at WrestleMania 41, making him the frontrunner to win the Royal Rumble. At the same time, WWE also considered putting John Cena over in his last Rumble. However, Jey Usos popularity became too big to ignore, leading creative to pivot in his direction. Usos path to WrestleMania was far from guaranteed, however. With a few unfortunate botches and underwhelming performances, Jey needed to deliver at a high level or face another shift in plans. Fortunately, he repaid their faith when it mattered the most, keeping the heat on his storyline with Gunther and yeeting his way out of WrestleMania as the new World Heavyweight Champion.

#3: Tiffany & Charlottes Shoot Promo

The line between kayfabe and reality can blur really fast. On the road to WrestleMania 41, Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair showed just how messy it can get. Rather than sticking to their planned promo, both women ended up taking shots at the other. But it was Tiffany who landed the hardest blow, delivering a scathing remark about Charlottes personal life to shut her down. While this provided the tension this feud sorely needed, it wasnt without consequence. As revealed in Unreal, Triple H wasnt happy with Tiffany going into business for herself, making her apologize to Charlotte for crossing the line. Whether justified or not, its clear that in WWE, trust between performers is valued above all else.

#2: Cody Rhodes Was Supposed to Sell His Soul to The Rock

The Final Bosss request for Codys soul was ultimately denied at Elimination Chamber, leading to John Cenas shocking heel turn. However, The Rocks team had also pitched multiple alternative storylines. One saw the reveal of Kevin Owens as Rocks secret accomplice, culminating in an impromptu match where Owens was crowned the new WWE Champion. Another took a darker turn Rhodes selling his soul to The Rock and shunning the WWE Universe. Had this route been taken, WrestleMania 41 wouldve seen a heel Cody Rhodes against a babyface John Cena. The idea of Rhodes going full Homelander has captivated fans for years, so the fact that we were this close to seeing it happen makes it among WWEs most fascinating What If scenarios.

#1: Only Six People Knew About John Cenas Heel Turn

Not since Hulk Hogan in WCW has a heel turn rocked the entire wrestling landscape. After over two decades as the biggest babyface in the industry, John Cena betrayed the WWE Universe by selling out to The Rock. As revealed in Unreal, the only people who knew about it were Triple H, Nick Khan, The Rock, Travis Scott, Cody Rhodes, and Cena himself. The secret was so closely guarded that even the production crew found out in real time. Although Unreal leaked plenty of industry secrets some for better, some for worse this one feels entirely earned, offering a whole new perspective on a heel turn that may never be topped in pro wrestling history.
