Of course, they dont get along! Yet, there couldnt be a better duo. Jiwoo, who has lightning speed, and Kayden, with his mastery over electrokinesis and butt-kicking, are the awakened ones. Its up to them to put evil in its place, even if that means taking on other awakeners. With gorgeous character designs and dynamic action scenes, Eleceed is a webtoon you dont want to miss.

Suho Kim is studying civil engineering and dreams of making it big, but the economy hasnt been very forgiving since, well, the medieval times. So, imagine Suhos delight when he wakes as a nobleman from ye olde days, Lloyd Frontera. Only this isnt a random transmigration. Hes in the world of a fantasy novel he had been reading, where Lloyd is on the brink of bankruptcy. Refusing to let his second chance at life go to waste, Suho uses his modern-day knowledge to revolutionize the ancient world and roll in dough for once. Meanwhile, he befriends the actual MC of the novel, Javier. Cue: the ultimate bromance. Oh, and did we mention he can summon the cutest animal assistants? Run, dont walk!

If you cringe at the concept of overpowered main characters, we have just the recommendation for you. The Ember Knight follows Nagyunn, who watches his twin brother, Najin, die in front of his eyes. Nagyunn had always been the weakling, while Najin was a knight-to-be, loved by all. Faced with his untimely death, Nagyunn is consumed by the fire of vengeance. He takes on his brothers identity to seek retribution, entering knight training. Thus begins the long con, where he must not only make his brothers world his own but also show up in it with Najins courage, minus his memories. He may not have the strength of a knight, but his big brain makes him quite the tactician, and thats how he survives.

#5: Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell (2018-22)

What do you do with a demon at your command? You use his formidable powers to overcome the greatest challenge in your life pulling a baddie. Paul is as plain as one gets, on the surface. A few panels in, hes the harbinger of chaos, cheesier than a stuffed-crust pizza. Little does he know, his angel of a crush, Elena, has a double life too, one that might be directly in conflict with the literal fiend hes housing. Thats all fine and dandy, though, as long as she likes him back. This webtoon is peak comedy, with surprisingly pretty art for something so unserious. Its not all jokes, though, because the story will blow your mind as it progresses. So, hop on the bandwagon already!

#4: Purple Hyacinth (2018-)

Sharp cop gets involved with deadly assassin to achieve a common goal a tale as old as time, right? Purple Hyacinth takes this cliché, gives it an epic dimension, and challenges anyone else to do it better. Our main characters are Lauren Sinclair, said cop with a nose for lies, and Kieran White, code name: the Purple Hyacinth, an elusive and lethal wanted killer. Theyre visually stunning, enough to leave you slack-jawed, but also have depth, with wounded pasts. A palpable, delicious tension brews between them as they reluctantly join hands to root out the Phantom Scythe, a criminal organization, for good. The narrative flows seamlessly, without a single dull panel, and is paired with an OST that will take your breath away. Were obsessed!

#3: The Boxer (2019-22)

This webtoon combines piercing dialogue with unnervingly beautiful artwork and an emotional core that hits like a gut punch. It follows Yu, a boxer who has surpassed human limits but couldnt be less bothered about it. Not because he thinks hes above competition, just that he doesnt feel anything at all. Its giving main character energy, isnt it? Well, apparently not. There are no main characters here, just like in life. The spotlight shifts from character to character, emphasizing a new perspective each time. Someone is an innate genius, someone sheds blood, sweat, and tears for what they have, and someone is driven by pure guts. Each individual is fleshed out with careful detail, leaving searing impressions on the reader. This manhwa will shake you.

#2: Lore Olympus (2017-24)

Few mythological couples can rival the level of iconic that is Hades and Persephones love story. Lore Olympus places the Olympian gods in modern times, retelling the story of how the King of the Underworld fell head over heels for the Goddess of Spring. However, this webtoon is not just heart-fluttering romance rehashing the same old tropes. It addresses issues that have long plagued Greek mythology, such as war, toxic relationships, and sexual assault, with sensitivity. It also does away with the more problematic aspects of the original Hades and Persephone myth to present a healthier, but no less electric connection.
