Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re looking at notable public figures who have made no secret of their disdain for talk show host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel.
#10: Elon Musk
After more than two decades in late night, Jimmy Kimmel has taken aim at countless public figures - and Elon Musk is no exception. And while Kimmel has shown little affection for the SpaceX chief, Musk has made it clear that the feeling is mutual. The criticism really boiled over in the wake of the 2024 U.S. election. While Jimmy offered words of solidarity to groups disappointed with the results, Musk lashed out, branding him “an insufferable nonsense propaganda puppet.” The two continue to trade barbs in a seemingly never-ending war of insults and accusations, with neither side showing signs of backing down.
#9: Joe Rogan
Never one to hold back, podcast giant Joe Rogan has also taken shots at Jimmy Kimmel, accusing the late-night host of being “trapped in a leftist thought bubble.” On “The Joe Rogan Experience,” he contrasted Kimmel’s current persona with his raunchy beginnings on “The Man Show,” claiming the comedian traded edge for an overly sensitive and politically correct act. Rogan has also resurfaced Kimmel’s past instances of blackface, blasting him as a hypocrite for later reinventing himself as a moral authority. Rogan’s tone suggests that he sees Kimmel as symbolic of what he considers overly restrictive norms in comedy and cultural opinion.
#8: Greg Gutfeld
While many of Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night peers rushed to defend him after his show was temporarily suspended by ABC, one host was notably missing from the crowd of supporters: Greg Gutfeld. On his Fox News talk show, Gutfeld unleashed criticism - mocking Kimmel by saying, “the guy who shot Charlie Kirk was more likely a fan of yours.” Gutfeld seized the moment to highlight what he sees as a major failure by the late-night host: a refusal to act responsibly when discussing political violence, and an unwillingness to admit mistakes. He ultimately accused Jimmy of taking advantage of tragedy and crossing a line between commentary and moral irresponsibility.
#7: Piers Morgan
Count British broadcaster Piers Morgan among those who also slammed Jimmy Kimmel for his comments following Charlie Kirk’s death. On X, Morgan wrote, in part, “Jimmy Kimmel lied about Charlie Kirk’s assassin being MAGA” and “caused understandable outrage all over America.” He concluded by asking, “Why is he being heralded as some kind of free speech martyr?” Known for his confrontational and brash style, Morgan essentially accused Kimmel of crossing the line between comedy and credibility, suggesting that by mischaracterizing the assassin’s political leanings, the late-night host’s commentary contributed more to outrage and division than to humor or healing.
#6: Megyn Kelly
Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly also took sharp exception to Jimmy Kimmel’s comments following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, wasting no time in voicing her outrage at the late-night host. On her program, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the host called Jimmy an “F-ing liar,” accusing him of being “entirely wrong in trying to blame this shooting on MAGA - and he knew it.” She pointed to statements from the suspect's mother and the Utah Governor indicating the alleged shooter had drifted toward the political left, arguing that Kimmel’s portrayal was misleading on purpose.
#5: Sean Hannity
Veteran Fox News host Sean Hannity has clashed with Jimmy Kimmel multiple times, most notably in 2018 after Kimmel mocked First Lady Melania Trump’s accent. Hannity went so far as to call Kimmel a “sick, twisted, creepy, perverted weirdo” on air. When the spat continued online, Kimmel mocked Hannity's devotion to President Donald Trump in a sexually explicit way, for which he later apologized. However, the dispute has flared up again in 2025, with Hannity calling Jimmy’s brief suspension from ABC “long overdue.” To Hannity, Kimmel clearly represents more than just a rival TV personality — he symbolizes the perceived political bias of Hollywood.
#4: Aaron Rodgers
Famed NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers shocked audiences during an appearance on “The Pat McAffee Show” in 2024 when he implied that Jimmy Kimmel’s name might appear in unsealed Jeffrey Epstein documents. Kimmel, in turn, tore into Rogers calling him "Karen Rodgers” and reiterated that he has no connection with Epstein. He went on to say, "I suggested that if Aaron wanted to make false and damaging statements like that, we should do it in court, so he can share his proof with a judge.” Rodgers later insisted he wasn’t outright accusing Kimmel but maintained that “people should ask questions.” The feud escalated across TV and social media, with Kimmel branding Rodgers’ comments “disgusting and false.”
#3: Ben Shapiro
Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro has openly criticized Jimmy Kimmel for what he sees as the late-night host’s shift from comedian to political commentator. Shapiro has argued that Kimmel long ago stopped balancing humor and has used emotionally laden monologues on health care, gun control, and Donald Trump to advance what Shapiro describes as a left-leaning political agenda. He’s accused Kimmel of relying on personal stories to support policy arguments. In recent appearances, Shapiro said Kimmel has been “awful at his job for full-on a decade,” adding “his ratings are terrible.”
#2: James Woods
Veteran actor and outspoken conservative James Woods has made his displeasure with Jimmy Kimmel very public. This was especially true following Kimmel’s initial suspension by ABC. You see, the “Once Upon a Time in America” actor took to X to feign sympathy—posting that he was “heartbroken” by how Kimmel was being treated. However, he then followed it up with, “Just kidding, Jimbo. Eat sh*t.” He also called Kimmel “unfunny,” a “money loser,” and described him as a “bitter, ratings-starved comic who wasn’t remotely funny.” If only he’d tell us how he really feels…
#1: Donald Trump
When it comes to public celebrity feuds, few are more pronounced than that between Donald Trump and Jimmy Kimmel. For years, Trump has disparaged Kimmel, calling his show “ratings challenged” and accusing him of having “ZERO talent.” In turn, Jimmy has relentlessly roasted Trump on his late-night show, taking aim at nearly every move the president makes. It’s no surprise then that Trump cheered on ABC’s suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” - calling it “Great News for America.” The rivalry has reached such heights that it’s anyone’s guess whether Trump loathes Jimmy Kimmel more than Rosie O’Donnell. And that’s saying something.
Do you believe these criticisms are justified, or is Jimmy Kimmel just doing his job as a late-night provocateur? Let us know in the comments below.
