Snowdonia National Park
The landscape of Wales is remarkable, and the country’s mountains are one main reason for this beauty. The highest mountain in Wales is found in Snowdonia National Park. Visitors can take a train ride to the summit of Snowdon, where spectacular views await. The Hafod Eryri summit visitor’s centre is also found at the peak.
Cader Idris
If you are feeling famished, you can satisfy your hunger in the cafeteria or you can enjoy your food while sitting on the mountainside. Another popular mountain in Snowdonia National Park is Cader Idris, which has the Talyllyn Valley right beside it.
Brecon Beacons National Park
Brecon Beacons National Park in the south of the country has a stunning mountain range known as Brecon Beacons. It is also home to Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, where visitors can walk and explore the summit.
Valleys
Brecon Beacons National Park also has a number of valleys, such as the Talybont, Llanbrynmair and Upper and Lower Neuadd Reservoirs. These artificial lakes supply water to such valleys as the Llanthony Valley, or the Vale of Ewyas.
Yr Eifl
Located in Gwynedd on the The Llyn Peninsula, Yr Eifl mountain has three summits. The summit of Tre’r Ceiri is perhaps the most notable because the prehistoric hill fort that is found on top.
Berwyn
In the northeast of Wales, you will find the Berwyn Mountain range, which is a remote area with few inhabitants. Further north is the Eglwyseg Valley, known for its vivid rock formations made of limestone.
Beautiful Welsh Mountains
While Wales has a number of attractions that draw in visitors, its mountains are a beautiful addition to the scenery that should not be missed.
