LAX

If you’re flying into L.A., the first major building you’ll visit is Los Angeles International Airport. In fact, LAX is one of the planet’s busiest commercial airports. Once you’ve touched down, you can get around the city by foot or by car. There is also a public transportation structure that includes the subway and light rail system – and while you’re enjoying the ride, be sure to pick up a copy of the Los Angeles Times!

Government Buildings

City Hall is another noteworthy building found in Los Angeles. Located in the northern part of downtown L.A., it houses the main government offices and meeting chambers. The district of Century City is the hub of business and commerce, and it houses many skyscrapers and other key constructions.

Sports Venues

Meanwhile, in the southwest, you'll find the Los Angeles Convention Center. This venue hosts a number of annual events ranging from automotive, to anime, to video games and more. Right next door you’ll find the Staples Center, which also hosts numerous events. However, this arena is perhaps most famous as the home of multiple L.A. sports teams. Sports fans should also look into visiting Dodger Stadium, where the city's Major League Baseball team has played its home games for over fifty years.

California Plaza

Aside from its sports venues, Los Angeles is home to numerous museums and music venues. For instance, the Museum of Contemporary Art is split over three separate locations, one of which is found at California Plaza. The Plaza also has a water court that puts on a fountain show, which may be accompanied by live entertainment during the evenings.

Music Halls

You don't have to go far to find the Los Angeles Music Center. The Walt Disney Concert Hall is probably the Center’s most well-known hall thanks to its unique architecture and superior acoustics. Another music venue that stands out due to its look is the massive Hollywood Bowl.

Museums

The western district of Brentwood is home to The Getty Center, where you'll find one branch of the J. Paul Getty Museum. If you're interested in science, you can head to Griffith Park and check out the exhibits in the Griffith Observatory.
