Historical Landmarks


Once the land of King Arthur, Wales today is a living relic of its history. Unfortunately, many of the country’s most notable pieces of architecture lie in ruins today, having been destroyed or simply worn away by time. However, it is also a modern country filled with contemporary touches. Wales’ architecture reflects these differences, and the country is home to a number of beautiful and significant buildings.

Wales Millennium Centre


The Wales Millennium Centre is one example of modern architecture in the city. Located in the public plaza know as the Roald Dahl Plass, the arts centre is made with local Welsh materials and is noteworthy for its glass water tower.

Portmeirion


The Italian-style architecture of Portmeirion is a big attraction for tourists. The village has also earned a place in pop culture as a popular filming location.
