Charles Gounod's Faust: Legendary French Opera

First performed on March 19th, 1859, the Charles Gounod opera "Faust" tells the timeless tale of a man who makes a deal with the devil. Of course, there is much more to the story, but this narrative has been explored countless times since it was originally written by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in 1808. In this video, speaks with L'Opéra de Montréal about their production of "Faust," to learn more about this story and what makes it so enduring. We also discuss their unique casting, where a father-son duo takes on the parts of Faust during his older and younger years.
