#10: Paula

“The Same Boat”
As a member of the Saviors, Paula is cold and calculating. In Season 6, she captures Maggie Greene and Carol Peletier after they attack Negan’s compound. With so many kills under her belt, Paula simply does not care anymore and she’s accepted her new role in life. After Carol breaks free and shoots Paula, the Savior continues to run her mouth, even with a gun still pointed at her. Unfortunately (for her), she gets impaled like all the walkers around her, screaming for help while her face gets peeled away.

#9: Pete Anderson

“Conquer”
Whereas Rick Grimes is honorable and respected, this man beats his wife and children. In the Season 5 finale, a bloodied-up Rick delivers an emotional speech, only to be interrupted by a drunken Pete who suddenly kills Reg. The look in Rick’s eyes suggests that he’s fed up with this guy. With the support of Deanna – Reg’s wife – he doesn’t waste any time finishing off the town doctor. Pete had been consistently pushing Rick’s buttons, so this death is especially satisfying, at least when considering his awful behavior.

#8: Officer Gorman

“Slabtown”
In Season 5, this handsy police officer tries to take advantage of Beth. From his perspective, she owes him something because he saved her life. Throughout Gorman’s one and only episode, he acts like a creeper, making sexually suggestive statements and continuing to threaten Beth in Dawn’s office. For that, Gorman gets what’s coming to him: a lollipop jar to the head and a visit from zombie Joan. This jugular death is quite graphic and marks the quick end of a true “Walking Dead” baddie.

#7: The Saviors

“No Way Out”
Shortly after this group’s first appearance, they encounter Daryl, Sasha and Abraham on the road. Their leader boasts about the mysterious Negan and makes a bad joke about eating poo. Yet, he’s still got the advantage in this situation . . . or so it would seem. Like so many villains, this guy is more talk than action, which proves to be a big mistake – especially when he sends Daryl off with some guy named “T.” Just as The Savior decides to kill the survivors, BOOM – Daryl blows them all up with an RPG for a major “Walking Dead” win.

#6: Shane Walsh

“Better Angels”
At first, this former Sheriff is one of the good guys. Shane Walsh survives and leads his own group, but everything changes when good ol’ Rick Grimes shows up. From that point on, Shane becomes increasingly arrogant and obnoxious, always challenging Rick while trying to steal the glory. By the end of Season 2, he’s become an egotistical madman who’s plotting to kill Rick in the woods. While Shane may be a tough guy, he’s not as smart as he thinks. So, when he keeps berating Rick and takes a knife to the heart, it’s justified due to all of his dirty scheming. Carl putting down zombie Shane is just the icing on the cake.

#5: Spencer Monroe

“Hearts Still Beating”
As the son of Deanna and Reg, this man is a lookout for the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Then Rick Grimes arrives and offers a new way of thinking, before Negan ultimately takes control. Despicable as he may be, Negan is no dummy and respects those who respect his authority. So, he’s not too impressed when Spencer openly betrays Rick. The confrontation begins as a public shaming, but as we’ve learned Negan often uses violence to teach a lesson. Because Spencer doesn’t appear to have any guts, figuratively speaking, Negan makes sure that he no longer has literal guts, either.

#4: Joe and the Claimers

“A”
During the Season 4 finale, Joe and his band of survivors launch an attack, only to be called off by Daryl. But Joe doesn’t seem to care whatsoever, as Rick had previously killed his friend, Lou. Joe’s level of detachment is worse than other villains’, and he seems to enjoy terrorizing his fellow survivors. But Rick isn’t a man who gives up, and he launches a sudden counterattack. Unfortunately, it doesn’t go well. But just as Carl is about to be assaulted, Rick gets a second wind and locks into zombie-mode. For the kill, he takes a giant bite of Joe’s neck and spits it out. Game over.

#3: Gareth

“Four Walls and a Roof”
Shortly after Rick kills Joe in Season 4, this Terminus leader makes his first appearance. From that point on, Gareth doesn’t show any redeeming characteristics. He claims to live by a certain code yet boasts about eating people. Early in Season 3, Gareth actually cuts off Bob’s leg and cooks it in front of him. But karma catches up with Gareth soon after, when he realizes that Bob’s “meat” is tainted and he gets ambushed in a church. Gareth talks a big game, but in the end, he dies on his knees, courtesy of a fed-up Rick Grimes. Chop Chop.

#2: Dawn Lerner

“Coda”
While Gareth was causing problems at Terminus, this Season 5 baddie was making enemies at Grady Memorial Hospital. Like Officer Gorman, Dawn Lerner reminds Beth that she owes them something. She even forces the girl to amputate Joan’s arm, and we all know how that turned out for her colleague Gorman. Those events set the stage for a later confrontation, where Dawn is stabbed. Unfortunately, Beth loses her life in the process. As a result, a heartbroken Daryl puts a single bullet in Dawn’s forehead as vengeance for his beloved Beth.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
- Dave & Tony
“Nebraska”

- Ed Peletier
“Vatos”

- Tomas
“Sick”

#1: Philip Blake [aka The Governor]

“Too Far Gone”
When this guy first appears in Season 3, he’s more annoying than violent. But when Michonne takes out his zombie daughter, Philip aka the Governor spirals out of control. Throughout the first half of Season 4, he’s the primary concern for Rick Grimes and company. The Governor even partially decapitates poor Hershel. Unsurprisingly, he doesn’t last long after that, as Rick sneaks up on him and Michonne plunges a katana through his body. It’s a satisfying moment for “Walking Dead” fans, but the final blow comes from Lilly, who finishes off the evil antagonist once and for all.
