Top 10 British YouTubers - TopX Ep.31

Vikk and his Ultimate Sidemen buddies have been playing and pranking their way through YouTube for years now, making video games just that little bit funnier and life in general a lot more fun. Vikkstar123 is one of the group’s main channels, on which Vik vlogs, plays games and sets up hilarious stunts with his friends. He has himself his own YouTube Empire, with an addictive brand of online entertainment all around the clock. This guy’s upload schedule is insanely impressive, which is one of the reasons why he’s so loved. That, and because he sucks at egg roulette!

Top 10 British Celebs That America Sent Back

TomSka – real name Thomas Ridgewell – joined YouTube in 2006, during the website’s “formative years.” Since then, his brand of often quirky, sometimes crazy and fairly dark comedy has seen him established as one of YouTube’s foremost comic acts, with over 4 million subscribers and over 810 million video views. Though he’s still mainly known for the asdfmovie series, variety is definitely the spice of this guy’s life. His channel boasts sketches, animation, surreal gags, and social jibes – oh, and a seriously catchy song about liking trains which you’ll never get out of your head (even if you prefer taking the bus!)

Top 20 YouTubers Who Quit

Our ironically influential eighth placer is the exact opposite to its overly modest moniker. Alfie Deyes is the not-so-pointless channel host, who’s racked up over 5 million YouTube subscribers and over 390 million views – on his main channel alone! Sure, most of the clips here aren’t about to save the world–although Alfie was a part of Band Aid 30–but PointlessBlog has a very definite point: it’s hilarious. It’s not the cutting, edgy comedy that you might associate with other Brit YouTubers, but open, honest, feel good fun. And Alfie’s often joined by his YouTube famous girlfriend Zoella, and her equally famous brother “Thatcher” Joe Sugg. What more could you want?

10 Cases of YouTubers Ruining Their Own Lives

Tanya Burr’s channel is a go-to spot for hair, make-up or fashion inspiration, the latest style tips and tutorials, and for anyone with even a passing interest in baking – which is pretty much everyone. Like Alfie Deyes, she’s well connected with the rest of Britain’s best YouTubers, including Zoella, but her most significant on-screen partner has to be her husband and fellow YouTuber, Jim Chapman. These two are the very definition of a cute couple, and clearly, Tanya’s makeup skills have rubbed off on Jim.

#6:  Ali-A

10 YouTubers Who Went Broke

Let’s play channels are all over YouTube right now but some manage to standout from the consoled crowd, and Ali-A is one of them. This guy is your guru for all things Call of Duty–and we mean all things! He’s stuck with the gun-toting series through thick, thin and on all platforms – and unsurprisingly, he’s gotten really, really good at it. Ali does occasionally try his hand at other games, but he uploads some form of COD gameplay on an almost daily basis. He’s one of the best Brits on YouTube, AND he’s the best on Black Ops.

Top 10 Most Dangerous Things YouTubers Have Done for Views

As said before, Let’s Play channels are eve-ry-where, as it seems that watching other people playing video games is what we like to do best–when not playing games ourselves, that is. TheSyndicateProject started up in 2010, focusing mainly on Halo and Modern Warfare 2. It has since branched out to GTA, Minecraft and Black Ops “Zombies” in particular, as channel host Tom Cassell aims to cover all our bases. With almost 10 million subs, it’s one of the most successful channels on today’s countdown, with Cassell even bridging to Twitch and being the first to rack up 1 million followers there. Quite simply, Syndicate rules!

20 Times YouTubers Got Arrested

AmazingPhil is a little like PointlessBlog, only he was a lot more confident when naming his channel. The “Phil” in question is Phil Lester, a British vlogger not from Leicester, but from London. His channel is essentially a funny, frantic tour through his life, which has been thoroughly transformed ever since he debuted on YouTube in 2006. Phil’s arguably best known as part of a double-act with Dan ‘danisnotonfire’ Howell. The duo are frequent video collaborators and even enjoy a radio career together – they hosted their own Sunday night show on BBC Radio 1, and the two currently host a monthly “Internet Takeover” feature on the station. It’s all part of Phil’s appropriately amazing rise to fame.

Top 10 Wholesome Moments on The Great British Bake Off

The second ‘Sideman’ to make today’s top 10, Miniminter is all about FIFA. Simon’s over-excited manner is just perfect for everyone’s favourite football (and by that we mean soccer) video game. He captures the highs and lows, the goals and saves, the ugly red cards and insane free kicks. And when he’s not playing Ultimate Team or schooling someone on Seasons, Simon’s probably out doing some other funny, football-related activity, usually with his Sidemen buddies. We just hope he doesn’t hold his higher placing over Vikk for too long!

#2:  The Slow Mo Guys

Top 10 Best Tech YouTubers

Take one simple idea with a high-spec cinema camera, and you have one of the most original and often outrageous channels on YouTube. The Slow Mo Guys are Gavin Free and Daniel Gruchy, two quite typically English lads doing funny stuff on film. Only these boys have themselves a high-definition Phantom Flex camera for most of their videos, capable of filming 2500 frames per second. Slow mo is their game, but it didn’t take them long to hit the online big time… Gav and Dan joined Rooster Teeth in 2008 and haven’t looked back since. From the sublime to the ridiculous, it’s always cooler, funnier, grosser, or scarier in slow mo!

The Life and Career of Simon Cowell

Let’s Play channels are clearly popular, but one game stands head, shoulders and a fair few blocks above any other in the genre; Minecraft! And the Yogscast is like a British base for everything related to the game. Operating out of Yogtowers in Bristol, Lewis Brindley, Simon Lane and the rest of  “The Yogscast Family” bring fresh content for us to devour on a daily basis. They do play other games quite regularly, actually, and the channel did in fact start with World of Warcraft; but Minecraft is what made them super famous, to the tune of 7.3 million subs and counting. In 2012 they became the first UK channel to clock 1 billion views, and now they’ve beaten the rest of Britain again!
