Top 5 Need to know Facts about Nick Viall

Love him or hate him, Nick is back for yet another season of the wildly popular Bachelor franchise – this time, as the Bachelor himself.

Welcome to MsMojo, and to help you get to know the new man of the hour that all of Bachelor Nation will inevitably obsess over throughout the following months, we bring you the top 5 need to know facts about Nick Viall.

#5: This Marks His 4th Time on the Franchise

When someone is named the official Bachelor, it's an exciting moment, but maybe Nick would have felt more elated had he not already had three failed relationships broadcast on national television. He made his first TV appearance as one of Andi Dorfman's suitors, ultimately losing to rival contestant Josh Murray. He returned the following season hoping to win Kaitlyn's heart, only to be the runner up yet again. On Bachelor in Paradise, he connected with castmate Jen Saviano but was the one to end things on the finale rather than propose. Enough “always the bridesmaid, never the bride” jokes have been made over the past few seasons, but with women outnumbering him and no one to compete against him, we can certainly agree that the odds are in Nick's favor this season

#4: He's a Model

Nick is a professional model represented by Wilhelmina International...Not surprising, considering the Bachelor contestants usually look like they were plucked out of a men's fashion magazine anyway. He wasn't always a model though; Nick used to work as a software sales executive prior to going on the show, and was introduced to the modelling world after wrapping up Kaitlyn Bristowe's season. Just by scrolling through his Instagram, you can see why a modelling agency would want him: He's super photogenic, and can do everything from bad boy to vulnerable to nerd chic, and that's because Nick himself is a man of many layers.

#3: He's Friends with Many Former Contestants

Because he's made more appearances on the franchise than almost anyone else, he's bound to therefore know more cast members compared to those who only appeared on one season. He's on fairly good terms with all three of his Bachelor exes, and still keeps in touch with his Bachelor in Paradise co-stars. And he may not have won Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe's heart, but he gained a few good friends from that season, including season 20's Bachelor Ben Higgins, and Bachelor in Paradise couple Jade & Tanner. Also, if you scroll through any of his social media accounts, he's either posing with a dog or with an assortment of Bachelor alums. Squad goals.

#2: He's from a Big Family

The 36 year old– one of the oldest Bachelors to date– is actually the second oldest of eleven children, having six sisters and four brothers. In fact, there is a seven year age gap between Nick and the sibling born after him, so Nick and his older sister sometimes acted as extra parental figures for their other brothers and sisters, helping to raise them. Since Nick and his family seem to be so close and so many, there's going to be that much more pressure on the girls who manage to make it to the end and have to meet his family.

#1: Some Think It Should Have Been Luke Pell

Ah, the question on the mind of most members of the Bachelor Nation... should it have been Luke? True, typically the next man to be chosen as the Bachelor comes from the previous season of the Bachelorette, so most fans just assumed fan favorite Luke Pell would snag the title after coming in fourth on JoJo's season. In fact, he was TOLD it would be him, until Nick was back on the market and producers changed their minds at the last minute. Sure, Luke's southern charm and good looks would have made him a prime candidate for this season's lead, but just because Nick is the Bachelor doesn't mean we won't see Luke again. Ahem: Bachelor in Paradise season 4, anyone?
