Seriously? Did the academy snub her because they where afraid of giving a woman a chance to win two best director Oscars, or something?

Yes, it competed during a hard year, but would anyone really complain if Cholodenko had been nominated instead of David O. Russell for The Fighter?

Did Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton) or Jason Reitman (Juno) really deserve a nomination more than Polley? Juno maybe, but Michael Clayton... does anyone even remember it?

Saudi Arabias first submission for the Oscars ever, and the film was directed by the country's first female filmmaker. That's an achievement. However, it didn't get the nomination.

It won the Golden Bear for F**ks sake, an award also given to: 12 Angry Men, Alphaville, Wild Strawberries, Spirited Away and Rain Man. And yet, the academy didn't nominate it.
