The ending of this award-winning documentary shows rich people, including GM CEO Roger Smith, celebrating Christmas at a lavish holiday party. Seemingly at the same time, a repo man is pulling a Christmas tree and wrapped gifts out of a former GM plant employee's home. This scene alone will make your holiday seem far less bright.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman attend a Christmas party in this mind-bending film. The first party they attend is standard, but the parties get much, much weirder after that. Too weird even for Stanley Kubrick fans around the holidays.

JonBenet Ramsey was killed on December 25th, 1996. What's even sadder than her dying on Christmas Day is that she was last seen alive at a Christmas party. This documentary, although well done, won't get anyone in the Christmas mood, and is best to watch any other month.

A father makes a horrific decision by leaving his children alone with their soon-to-be stepmother at a remote log cabin right before December 25th. They put the Christmas decorations up, but the decorations disappear right before their sanity. It's a dark, dark movie, and getting the whole family to sit down and watch this one is NOT recommended.

Randall McMurphy celebrates Christmas with his fellow patients before making a break for it. The party is fun, but the aftermath bears many negative consequences. If you have to deal with annoying family members at a Christmas party, it's best not to take inspiration from McMurphy's handling of Nurse Ratched on Christmas Day itself.

Ben returns to his family's home from rehab on Christmas Eve. Oh, did we mention he escaped from rehab, and is on the brink of relapsing? That, added to a contentious relationship with his stepfather, makes this film less than ideal viewing on or around Christmas.
