Top 5 Performances from the 60th Annual Grammy Awards!

While the Grammys might just be another excuse to give some of the most talented artists across the nation a slew of awards, the biggest night in music never fails to give us some truly memorable performances. Last night’s 60th Annual Grammy Awards was jam packed full of great artists bringing their craft to the big stage. But which performances were the best of the night? Here’s our picks for the Top 5 performances from the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.

#5 – Chris Stapleton & Emmylou Harris – “Wildflowers”

In a collaboration that is truly as beautiful as it sounds on paper, Country legend Emmylou Harris joined the newest winner of the Best Country Album Chris Stapleton to perform a tribute to the late Tom Petty on his song “Wildflowers”. Their voices complimented each other flawlessly, and it acted as one of the more touching moments of the night, especially since it lead into the in memoriam segment.

#4 – Bruno Mars feat. Cardi B – “Finesse (Remix)”

In what can only be described as an acid trip fuelled voyage back to the 90s, Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s performance of “Finesse” had all the energy that you’d expect out of these two musicians. Mars’ dance skills were on full display, making a real case for why he deserved that Album of the Year win, while Cardi B is constantly showing us why she’s quickly becoming one of the hottest names in music.

#3 – SZA – “Broken Clocks”

While it’s a shame that SZA lost the award for Best New Artist early in the night, we luckily got to hear from her later in the night when she performed a show-stopping rendition of her track “Broken Clocks”. It was a groovy performance that most definitely made the Recording Academy rethink their choice for Best New Artist.

#2 – Childish Gambino – “Terrified”

Actor, writer AND musician? Is there anything this guy can’t do? A mostly stripped down performance of his Awaken, My Love! track “Terrified”, Childish Gambino showed off his strong set of pipes and newly acquired groovy sound to the Grammy audience last night. As Childish doesn’t perform live too often anymore, this performance was a satisfying one to watch.

#1 – Kendrick Lamar feat. Bono, The Edge & Dave Chappelle – “DAMN. Medley”

It’s Kendrick performing at the Grammys. Do you really expect anything other than a memorable performance. As a master of integrating political imagery into his productions, Kendrick brought his A-game last night when he performed a mashup of verses from his most recent album Damn. After bringing Bono and The Edge out for a chorus, Kendrick threw the spotlight to Dave Chappelle to hit the statement home. A Grammy performance for the ages.
