Top 3 Video Game Characters That Would Have Made Great Love Interests

A Love That Never Was

Recent years has brought the topic of romance and relationships to the forefront in video games, especially in regards to the RPG genre. Building a connection with a character, diving into a sub-plot that can potentially result in a blushing confession, it’s popularity has soared to the point that we have come to expect it in series like Mass Effect, Persona and Fire Emblem. While there have been some exceptional examples, there are a few characters were feel that were unceremoniously left out of the loop.

As far as these three are concerned, we can’t help but speculate that a lack of a romance option was a huge waste given how well their characters had been built up beforehand. Can you imagine the possibilities and complications that could have come from such unions?

#3: Lace Harding
“Dragon Age: Inquisition” (2014)

This devoted Inquisition scout was there to meet us every time we entered a new part of Thedas. Not only was she bubbly, upbeat and arguably the cutest example of a dwarf character we’ve seen, but we were even given the option to flirt with her on every given occasion. The fact this never led anywhere is a huge disappointment. We have no idea if she would have been able to measure up to Iron Bull or Cassandra as a love interest, but the potential was certainly there. Damn it Bioware!

#2: Keith David
“Saints Row IV” (2013)

Perhaps Mr David wasn’t too keen on the idea of players being able to get freaky with his in-game persona, but you can’t deny it would have been the icing on the cake to see The Saints’ boss try his luck with the Vice President. Given how we were given the option to tango with the rest of the crew, including a floating robot head, it’s a shame that we couldn’t declare out love to the veteran actor, as awkward as it would have been.

#1: Cerys an Craite
“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” (2015)

If there was a lady that could have matched Trish and Yennefer as a potential romance interest, it would have been Skellige’s very own Sparrowhawk. The quest to aid her in becoming the first ever female monarch of the Isles was thrilling from beginning to end, the only that could have potentially improved it was seeing how the land’s politics could have potentially become compromised given her affections for a certain Witcher. Cerys will forever remain a highlight character in our minds, but we can’t help but imagine what could have been if she had gotten closer to the White Wolf.
