Get Ready! Here Are Our Top 3 Things You Need to Binge This Weekend

#3: “Ricky Gervais: Humanity”

What better way to recover from that Saint Patrick’s Day hangover than by crushing Ricky Gervais’ latest stand up special. It’s been seven years since Gervais last took to the stage, and “Humanity” is full of both offensive and offensively British humour that fans will love, and haters will . . . hate. Taking pretty scathing shots at his own critics, genital, specifically those belonging to Caitlyn Jenner, and family life. Gervais holds nothing back and this return special is essentially a rant, albeit a hilarious one, where he is clearly letting loose a lot of pent up frustration; and for all its controversy and cruelty, is prime Gervais content.

#2: “The Theory of Everything”

You’ve no doubt hear about thetragic passing of the brilliant cosmologist, physicist and writer Stephen Hawking. “The Theory of Everything”, the highly acclaimed 2014 biopic on the renowned scientist is available on Netflix. Staring Felicity Jones as Jane Hawking and Eddie Redmayne as Hawking himself, the film focuses on Jane and Steven’s relationship, from their early days at The University of Cambridge to their marriage and Hawkins’ battle with ALS. A real life love story, “The Theory of Everything” provides an deep and insightful perspective on Hawking’s personal story, intimate and tragic yet positive and motivational.

#1: “Sneaky Pete” – Season 2

Season 2 of Amazon’s standout series “Sneaky Pete” dropped this month, and if you’re a fan of duplicitous anti-heroes, this show is a must watch. Created by none other than Bryan Cranston of “Breaking Bad” fame, and David Shore, the creator of “House”, “Sneaky Pete” stars Giovanni Ribisi, a con man named Marius Josipović, whose past (or rather Pete’s Past), has caught up to him. It picks up right where season 1 left off, but ramps up the thrills, suspense and above all, stakes. While we don’t think this show should be compared to “Breaking Bad,” one thing “Sneaky Pete” has an equally layered and complex protagonist whose special set of skills always keep him five steps ahead of the competition.
