Top 3 Things We Want To See In Dragon Age 4

Fear and Loathing in Thedas!

Compelling characters, rich fantasy and plenty of rumpy pumpy with a Qunari. That’s the world of Dragon Age for you. As one of Bioware’s flagship franchises, many fans are losing their collective minds over the possibilities that could come with a fourth instalment. After all, Dragon Age: Inquisition and its subsequent DLCs managed to really raise the bar, not to mention give us a complete story in regards to our own personal protagonist. Some of us still haven’t gotten over that final scene with Solas…

It isn’t clear if the events of Trespasser will influence the actions of the next game, but we imagine that we’re bound to find ourselves faced with a new batch of friends and foes to deal with as we are once again launched into a quest to save Thedas from destruction. We have no doubt that Bioware can deliver, but in terms of specifics, these are the three aspects we’re really hoping they nail!

#3: Origin Variations

One of the first Dragon Age’s greatest features was the varying introductions to the main character depending on their race. They may have all arrived at the same destination, but seeing the difference origins of a human noble, human mage, city elf and dwarf commoner was rather enthralling. It made things infinitely more personable, which is why we hope we see this motif brought back with even more detail in the fourth instalment.

#2: Improved Combat

Mass Effect: Andromeda certainly had may faults to its name, but everyone was pretty unanimous in agreeing that the combat mechanics were the best they had ever been. Hopefully this game can get the seem treatment while maintaining top tier storytelling and gameplay. Can you imagine how epic it would be to see you bust out fluid sword techniques and magic-chain combos in the blink of an eye?

#1: Crazier Romance Options

Inquisition not only gave us your typical well-written yet basic romance options, but also one of the best examples of a homosexual love interest in the form of Dorian. Not to mention the chance to romp a pansexual Qunari, and in doing enter a very healthy dominate/submissive relationship. Bioware really upped their game here, so we’re hoping in the upcoming sequel they go even further. Obviously, make sure everyone is as developed and fleshed out as possible, but beyond that go wild. New races, numerous potential partners, new challenges and confrontations to overcome as a couple. Basically go big or go home!
