Even with Disney’s acquisition of Fox, it might be awhile until we actually see the X-Men join the MCU. Until then, however, we have plenty of X-Men films to look forward to. In 2018 alone, we’ll be getting Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix with The New Mutants slated for a 2019 release. Now after a few years of being stuck in development, an X-Force movie is finally moving forward.
For those who don’t know, the X-Force comics center on a group of mutants with a militant twist. Here are three things you need to know about the upcoming film adaptation.

Following the success of Deadpool, it was announced that star Ryan Reynolds would reprise his role in an X-Force movie. Wade Wilson won’t be alone, as Josh Brolin is also set to return as time traveler Cable, aka Nathan Summers, who will make his debut in Deadpool 2. Based on the trailer, the Deadpool sequel seems to be building towards the X-Force film, as the Merc with a Mouth is seen uniting alongside several other mutants.

Goddard is no stranger to superheroes either, having acted as the former showrunner of Netflix’s Daredevil.
1. It Starts Filming Soon
While no official release date has been set yet, Digital Spy reports that X-Force is expected to begin filming in October of 2018. So it’s possible that the film will hit theaters as early as 2020 or maybe even 2019. If only we could travel to the future like Cable…
