Get Ready For The New Blood!
None of us will ever forget or stop loving the likes of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man, Steve Rogers’ Captain America and all the other classic heroes. Of course, that doesn’t mean we aren’t eager to see plenty of new and intriguing characters make a name for themselves. After all, the comics have so many new generations of super-teams, crime-fighters and masked wonders that it’s hard to keep track.
Disney must have had the same idea, since it was recently announced that a brand new animated series was on the way, starring various newcomers who already have already amassed a huge following.
According to an article on Toonzone –
What are Marvel and Disney about to unleash with their new animated franchise dubbed Marvel Rising? Whoâs starring in the series and what can we expect from it?
Marvel announced the project today and described as a â multi-platform animation franchise,â meaning its characters will have adventures on television, in movies and in web shorts. Many of the characters selected for Marvel Rising have yet to make proper appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but some have appeared on Disney XDâs Marvel programs, and now they will be front and center in their own series. Like Spider-Gwen.
Spider-Gwen will serve as herald for the new franchise by starring in its first few digital shorts, where sheâll go by her new moniker âGhost Spider.â Gwenâs voice will be supplied by the Disney Channelâs Dove Cameron. Later on, the Marvel Rising cast will be fully introduced in their own feature-length animated movie, Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors. âWhen a threat no one could have expected bears down on the Marvel Universe, this ragtag, untrained band of teens have no choice but to rise together and prove to the world that sometimes the difference between a âheroâ and âmisfitâ is just in the name,â reads Marvelâs official description of the movie plot.
Marvel Rising will include a vibrant cast of favorites from the comics: in addition to Spider-Gwen youâll also get Ms. Marvel (voiced by Kathreen Khavari), America Chavez (voiced by Cierra Ramirez), Squirrel Girl (voiced by Milana Vayntrub, whoâs scheduled to play the role on camera in the âNew Warriorsâ TV show), Daisy Johnson (voiced by her actress from Agents of SHIELD, Chloe Bennet), and much more.
About time these characters got a chance to take centre stage! Here’s hoping it gets the same love and care that went into shows like The Spectacular Spider-Man and The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!Â
