Snake’s Looking A Little Different These Days…
As much as we all love the narrative and boss battles of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, there’s no denying that it’s also very easy to make fun of. Especially when it comes to hiding inside a cardboard box to escape your enemies.
While there are certainly plenty of parodies out there, we weren’t expecting there to be a whole video game dedicated to Metal Gear Solid’s more ridiculous concepts, but lo and behold that looks like exactly what we’ve got in Never Stop Sneakin’.Â
According to an article on Polygon –
Humble Hearts, the developer behind 2012 action role-playing game Dust: An Elysian Tail, will release its next game, Never Stop Sneakinâ, on Nintendo Switch this holiday. The developerâs new game is a big departure from its last â itâs a Metal Gear Solid-inspired stealth game with a weird comedy bent.
According to the trailerâs official description, madman Amadeus Guildenstern has traveled through time and kidnapped all of the U.S. presidents. âInfiltrate the enemy base, avoid their patrols, and hack their systems to gain valuable intel,â Humble Hearts said. âBuild your Sneakin’ HQ, and figure out how to stop Guildenstern’s time-traveling scheme!â
As Never Stop Sneakinâs announcement trailer reveals, the sneakinâ appears to be very fast paced. Thereâs also plenty of Metal Gear Solid parody happening here; Guildensternâs vice president is a helicopter, for example.
On Twitter, Humble Heartsâ Dean Dodrill talked about what went into Never Stop Sneakinâs design.
âI had several goals I wanted to accomplish with my sophomore effort as a game developer,â Dodrill said. âI wanted to try something in a completely different aesthetic, and go fully-polygonal in the process. I wanted to create something procedural and infinitely re-playable, and design engaging combat with the simplest controls possible. I think I’ve accomplished these things, and it’s been a thrill to create something completely different from Dust: An Elysian Tail.â
