#20: Conan O'Brien
In 2013, the newly married Hoffmans went back to a hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, to enjoy their reception. The couple had originally met three years earlier at an arts festival, which just happened to feature O'Brien's stand-up set. In the run-up to the wedding, bridesmaid Niki Wing discovered the TV host was staying at the same hotel as the Hoffman nuptials. So, she tweeted O'Brien and invited him. While he didn’t reply, he still turned up! Immediately, O'Brien left a lasting impression by teaching the groom, Wes, how to do his string dance. He then showed the bride photos of his family, spoke to everyone who approached him, drank cocktails, and resisted peer pressure to have a lemon drop shot.

Animal-print swimwear is already a bold choice, yet imagine stumbling into a wedding while wearing that. For that mission, there’s probably only one woman who could pull that off: Serena Williams. In 2014, the tennis legend took a trip with some friends, including fellow tennis icon Caroline Wozniacki, to a beach in Miami, Florida. Yet on that particular day, Ruth and Sam Kormoi were having their nuptials. When the groom spotted Williams nearby, he asked a friend to go and ask her if she wanted to come over. Amazingly, she accepted the invitation. On top of congratulating the couple, she took photos with them, all while wearing her leopard-print swimwear, adding further to her incredible lore.

Imagine getting married to the love of your life and your childhood celebrity crush happens to pop up on the same day. Well, that incredible situation happened to Chelsey Gaudet on her New Hampshire wedding day to Ryan Parks in 2016. Shortly before the main event got underway, Parks and his soon-to-be father-in-law saw Timberlake having lunch at a nearby restaurant. So, they invited the singer to the wedding and didn’t tell the bride. When the newly nuptial-ed couple were taking photos, Timberlake arrived! He congratulated them before having a photo that they, especially Gaudet, will treasure for the rest of their lives.

No one likes to be called over for a talk by the owner of the establishment while in the middle of celebrating. Immediately, you believe something bad has happened. In 2017, Kirsten and Kayleigh Jennings were celebrating tying the knot at Pizzeria Gusto in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, when management called them over. Instead of some terrible, reception-ending news, the owner asked the couple if it was okay for Stewart and her then-girlfriend, Maxwell, to celebrate with them. While Kirsten didn’t know who they were, the couple happily agreed. Shortly after, Stewart and Maxwell arrived! Reportedly, Stewart was in the area to shoot a film, likely 2018’s “JT LeRoy,” and knew the owner. So, the Hollywood couple celebrated with the Jennings until the early hours.
#16: Bradley Cooper
11 years after 2005’s “Wedding Crashers,” Cooper finally got to do a real-life version of the film and experience what that’s like. Yet rather than being a well-thought-out plan, it was by complete accident. In 2016, the actor was walking around Georgetown University, where he studied. Yet he then stumbled upon Meaghan Carrigan and Nick Barnicle, who were getting married at the university’s Copley Crypt Chapel. Reportedly knowing the couple, Cooper went and congratulated the newlyweds. Not only did he apparently catch the bouquet, but Cooper also joined the couple for a celebratory meal at Cafe Milano. Carrigan and Barnicle weren’t the only ones happy to see Cooper at Georgetown, as students apparently followed him around campus!

#15: Kevin Hart & Josh Gad
In 2014, following the nuptials between Rajan and Chandni, guests were listening to speeches at a venue in Hollywood. Yet, instead of hearing cute tales about the couple and awkwardly laughing at an uncomfortable joke, two famous faces walked in: Hart and Gad. The duo was next door having a photoshoot for their 2015 film, “The Wedding Ringer.” As such, they were already appropriately dressed for the festivities when they walked into the venue and grabbed the mics. They then launched into an improvised speech about love before singing. Yet Gad and Hart weren’t done. They then led guests to the dance floor to kick off the celebrations!

Months before their wedding, Backstreet Boys superfans A’riel and Ryan Kastovich uploaded a YouTube video inviting the band to their wedding. A shot in the dark; when they didn’t hear anything, the couple didn’t think about it. Well, that changed in 2015 when they had their reception in Melbourne, Florida. During the event, the band’s management handed the newlyweds a congratulatory letter, signed by four of the five members. If they thought it was weird that one name was missing, that changed when the omitted person, Dorough, well-known as Howie D, walked in. He'd secretly been gathering the wedding information from others, including A’riel’s parents and a bridesmaid. Rather than only turning up, Dorough also performed a song for the couple.

Be honest, if you could have any celebrity photobomb your wedding photos, Tom Hanks would be right at the top of the list. The Hollywood nice guy serendipitously interrupted a couple by the name of Elizabeth and Ryan while they were taking their wedding photos in New York City’s Central Park. Hanks, who noticed the couple while jogging, stopped to congratulate them, before graciously posing for a few pictures. The two-time Oscar winner even posted a selfie of the three of them to his twitter account. Talk about the ultimate wedding gift!

With an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a couple of Grammys under her belt, it’s wholly apparent that singer and actress Jennifer Hudson can do it all. Well, in 2015 she added another, somewhat surprising accolade to her resume: wedding crasher. Working with the Turn It Up For Change Program, Hudson, who’s long been a staunch supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, teamed up with The W Hotel to give Chris and Scott Lindsey a day they would never forget. The wedding, which came just months after the landmark Obergefell v Hodges case. Hodges ruling made same-sex marriage legal across the entire United States, featured a surprise performance from Hudson, who sang “I Still Love You”, off of her third studio album, “JHUD.”
#11: Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez
In 2011, Jeanine Holguin and Rob McCool were enjoying their beachfront reception in Malibu, California. At one point, the Bieber song “One Less Lonely Girl” began playing on the sound system. Yet like a magic summoning, the Canadian singer and his then-partner Gomez strolled into the venue. The couple was taking a moonlight stroll on the beach nearby when they heard Bieber’s song and decided to see what was happening. On top of Bieber making an impromptu speech, he also took photos with the couple and other guests. While he and Gomez were only there for around 10 minutes, besides tying the knot, it made Holguin and McCool’s night.

Imagine walking out of your hotel on your wedding day, only to see Snoop D-O-Double-G stepping out of a limousine. Well, that’s exactly what happened to Chicago couple Joseph and Neesha Ghadiali back in 2014. Oddly enough, it was the mother of the groom who insisted they pose for pics with the rapper. While they were initially a little hesitant to get close to him, they eventually calmed down enough to snap a few pics. The mother of the groom later said, “Snoop was a blast to be around" and that the happy couple and the legendary rapper “had a great conversation and a ton of laughs inside the bar." Snoop later posted a pic of the three of them to his Instagram account.

After falling on hard times, an Australian couple were planning on postponing their wedding. However, when local radio personalities Kyle & Jackie O, of “The Kyle and Jackie O Show,” heard their story, they stepped in and surprised the couple by paying for the wedding. But that wasn’t all. On the day of the event, the celebrity benefactors showed up in person, bringing with them an even bigger surprise: Ed-freakin’-Sheeran! The pop superstar sang his hit song "Thinking Out Loud" before posing for pics with the star-struck couple. He later posted a picture to his Instagram with the caption: “Just surprised this lovely couples first dance. Available for weddings, birthdays and bar mitzvah’s, contact your local super market for details.”

Wedding crashers don’t get much more high profile than this! In 2015, Stephanie and Brian Tobe were getting married at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California, when they noticed something peculiar: The President of the United States. Then-President Barack Obama just so happened to be finishing up a round of golf when he was spotted by the soon-to-be married couple. While the Tobes were fine just watching from afar, wedding photographers Jeff and Erin Youngren sensed an opportunity for some truly unique photos and urged the couple to get a little closer. Obama was more than happy to pose for a few pictures with the couple, who were no doubt having an out-of-body experience. We know we are just looking at these pics!

If the director of your music video is David Dobkin, who made 2005’s “Wedding Crashers,” there’s only one theme that makes sense. In 2014, over the course of one weekend, putting in up to 12 hours of work and travel per day, Maroon 5 were dragged all over Los Angeles, California, to crash weddings for the 2015 music video “Sugar.” The only people who knew about the impromptu performances were the grooms. The receptions had the stage set up for their actual wedding band, only for Maroon 5 to jump from behind a curtain. However, frontman Adam Levine was so concerned about potentially ruining the day that he and guitarist James Valentine performed an acoustic version of “She Will Be Loved” for the newlyweds’ first dance.
#6: Beyoncé & Jay-Z
Few weddings in the history of the human race would have been as awesome to attend as Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s. However, the next best thing would be to have them crash your wedding. That’s exactly what happened to one lucky couple back in 2014, when Queen B and Hova stumbled upon a wedding party while on vacation in Portofino, Italy. The story goes that the Bey and Jay were walking through town clad in bathing suits when they noticed a wedding taking place outside of a church. While Jay-Z didn’t pose for any pictures, it appears Beyoncé was more than happy to make the bride’s day, posing for a couple of candid pics.
#5: Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s The Monster Ball Tour lasted two years and took her all over the world. That included a 2010 stop in the Australian city of Adelaide. While there she stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel, which just so happened to be where Aussie couple Courtney and Reece Kerr were tying the knot. The singer walked right into the ballroom and before you could say “poker face” she was posing for pictures and buying the entire wedding a drink! Before she left Gaga apparently told the couple to “have good sex!” Due to her reputation, we’re not exactly surprised that Lady Gaga left the couple with that sage piece of advice.
#4: Katy Perry
No bride wants to be upstaged on their wedding day, but we have a feeling Hayley Rosenblum and her groom Blonie Dudney didn’t mind when Katy Perry popped in to say hello when they tied the knot back in 2017. Perry, who was taking a break from touring, happened to be staying at the same St. Louis hotel as the couple when she spontaneously decided to give them the surprise of a lifetime. Perry wasn’t content simply posing for pictures, hoping on the dancefloor and busting a move to Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack.” Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time she’s crashed a wedding, having dropped in on a rehearsal in 2013 as well.
#3: Dwayne Johnson & Danny Devito
During a break from press interviews for 2019’s “Jumanji: The Next Level,” The Rock and Devito were enjoying some tequila together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Likely inspired by the romantic sunset they were taking in, love was in the air, especially after the actors overheard a wedding party at the same venue. So, Johnson and Devito decided to check out the festivities for Kristine and Will’s nuptials. Yet rather than only arrive and have photos taken, they got creative. While reading the lyrics from a phone, the actors sang Nat King Cole’s iconic 1951 song, “Unforgettable.” Following some photos, Johnson and Devito even shared some marriage advice, making Kristine and Will’s wedding even more memorable.
#2: Taylor Swift
Are you still considered a wedding crasher if you were secretly invited by the groom’s sister? In 2016, after months of planning, Taylor Swift surprised Max and Kenya Smith at their wedding, performing Max’s favorite song, “Blank Space.” When the song was over, Swift took time to pose for pictures with the couple, as well as numerous other wedding guests. The couple, who’d wed months earlier at the hospital of the groom’s mother (who passed away shortly afterwards), were huge Taylor Swift fans. So, in light of their loss, Max’s sister Ali wrote to the Grammy winner, asking her to come to the wedding, an invitation she gladly accepted. Hey, if it worked for the Singers, it could work for you too!
#1: Queen Elizabeth II
Without a doubt the coolest wedding crasher in the history of wedding crashers, Queen Elizabeth II surprised Manchester couple John and Frances Canning in 2012 when she took time out of her (presumably) busy schedule to wish them luck at their wedding. The Canning’s knew that the Queen would be in their neck of the woods on the day of their wedding, so they decided to send her a letter asking if she’d like to attend. To everyone’s surprise, the Queen actually showed up! According to Frances, “She was beautiful, a really nice woman, and wished us all the best." As far as bucket list items go, getting The Queen to attend your wedding has got to be one of the hardest to cross off.
