Top 10 Most Anticipated Anime of 2026 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Most Anticipated Anime of 2026. #10: “Hell's Paradise” Season 2 (2026)

Our first foray into the disturbing land of Shinsenkyo came with a large dose of horror and despair… but somehow we’re eager to see how much worse it can get! Following on from Gabimaru’s battle against the Tensens, season 2 of Hell’s Paradise promises to have more high octane action and perhaps reveal more about the origins of the realm. Will Gabimaru and the other prisoners survive another season in this hellscape or will we see more bloodshed? We can’t wait to find out. #9: “Witch Hat Atelier” (2026) Now some of you might be getting deja-vu right now, and that’s because we actually featured this Anime on last year's most anticipated before it got delayed a whole year. It stars Coco, who is the frontrunner for the newest heart-stealing anime lead. Her desire to learn magic is as endearing as it is relatable. It’s a shame for her that there’s a mischievous Brimmed Hat coven laying waste across the realm. But, it sure does make for good entertainment. Add in Coco’s stern but lovable mentor, Qifrey, and you have all the runes you need for a downright spellbinding anime. It’s really no wonder fans have been waiting for this one for a very, very long time. #8: “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” Season 4 (2026) The beloved nation-building isekai is back, and Rimuru Tempest's domain is only growing larger and more complex. With the previous season covering the fallout from the Kingdom of Falmuth's invasion and Rimuru further solidifying his political standing, the fourth season will undoubtedly bring new diplomatic challenges and formidable adversaries as Tempest continues its unprecedented expansion. It’s been revealed that season 4 will be an incredibly huge split five-cour broadcast, meaning we’re gonna be in this one for the long run! #7: “Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World” Season 4 (2026) Brace yourselves for another harrowing journey alongside Subaru Natsuki as he continues his desperate fight against fate. Season 3 was arguably the best season yet for the show, with a heavy action focus against major members of the Witch Cult. It’ll be interesting to see the immediate fallout of that battle, as quite frankly there are a few characters that are in pretty bad state right now, and it’ll be up to Subaru to journey all the way to the Pleiades Watchtower in order to save them. Place your bets now, How many times do you think Subaru will have to rely on his “Return by Death” ability? #6: “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity” (2026) After all these years it’s hard to believe we’re finally reaching the true conclusion of the Bleach Anime, but after three incredible seasons of “Thousand-Year Blood War” it’s finally becoming a reality. With all the major players from both the Soul Society and the Wandenreich now clashing on the Wahrwelt, we absolutely cannot wait to see how Studio Pierrot will animate these fights. The third season already expanded on the manga with brand new scenes that greatly improved the story, and apparently this season will continue this trend even further. #5: “Oshi No Ko” Season 3 (2026)

Aqua’s story so far has taught us that the world of entertainment in Japan is absolutely cutthroat. After the second season had a heavy focus on the excellent “Tokyo Blade” stage play, it dropped some pretty huge revelations in its final episodes. While we can’t wait to see how Aqua tackles these reveals, it seems as though Ruby will have a much larger role in this season compared to the last, as she and the rest of B-Komachi rise through the industry. One thing’s for sure, our eyes will be glued to the screen from start to finish. #4: “Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation” Season 3 (2026) The last season of Mushoku Tensei brought a lot of despair to our protagonist, but also a lot of hope. Following a terrible loss, Rudeus found a silver lining with his ever expanding family. Despite his flaws, Rudeus continues to grow as a person and it’ll be interesting to see where the new season takes him, especially considering he’s a father now. A lot of major plot points saw their conclusion in season three, especially concerning his parents, so we’re hopeful that the new season will tackle some of the more important issues, like who exactly is Hitogami and why exactly did he decide to Isekai Rudeus. #3: “Black Clover” Season 2 (2026) It’s been almost five years since “Black Clover” concluded, and although we were treated to the excellent “Sword of the Wizard King” movie during that time, we’ve been desperate to see a continuation of Asta’s story. The last season ended right in the middle of the Spade Kingdom arc where things were just starting to heat up. Yami had just been kidnapped by Zenon, and Asta had just learned about his mothers past, forming a connection with the devil Liebe. The original series had some of the absolute best fights anime had to offer, and we have no doubt that Studio Pierrot will bring their A game once again. #2: “Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game” (2026)

While you may have been lucky enough to catch the first little taste of this follow-up in cinemas, the show will officially continue in the winter 2026 season - and we could not be more hyped. Following the devastating conflict in Shibuya, Yuji and the gang now find themselves in utter despair without the help of their leader, Gojo. But that’s not the end of our protagonist’s worries, as he’s now got a hit on him, and the person who’s come to collect is none other than Yuta Okkotsu. That’s right, Yuji’s suffering is set to continue as the culling game commences. #1: “Frieren: Beyond Journey's End” Season 2 (2026)

The first season of Frieren was an absolute triumph and quickly cemented itself as one of the greatest modern anime. That’s why making us wait almost two whole years for more was just plain cruel! Thankfully, Frieren, Fern, and Stern will be making their grand return in the winter 2026 season as they continue their journey towards the Aureole. If we’ve learned anything from season 1, it is to brace ourselves for absolute heartbreak, and something tells us we’re in for much more of that in season 2. Well, that and Frieren getting caught in mimics of course.
