VOICE OVER: Emily Brayton
Script written by Christopher Lozano

O-Ren Ishii, Rita Vrataski, Judge Anderson, Trinity, Hit-Girl, Boo, Mathilda, Hit-Girl, Mathilda, Furiosa, Natasha Romanoff are just some of the female characters we'd love to see with their own movie!

#10: O-Ren Ishii “Kill Bill: Volume 1” (2003)

We love it when the villain in a movie is just as interesting as the hero, if not more so. In the case of O-Ren Ishii, we are treated a cool little anime backstory explaining her past and accomplishments, but that wasn’t enough for us; It just left us wanting more. We’re told that she rose through the yakuza ranks despite her mixed ethnicity and we’d love to see that story put up on the big screen. It could be an anime again or take the live-action route. We’re not picky, as long as Quentin Tarantino is attached to the project.

#9: Rita Vrataski “Edge of Tomorrow” (2014)

Rita is the kind of no-nonsense, goal-oriented character we love to see in these types of movies. There’s no two-ways about it, she’s good at what she does. “Edge of Tomorrow” gives us a surprisingly cool universe that we’d love to see more of. Specifically, we’d love to see it through the eyes of Rita. What could be cooler than Rita blasting some Mimics in a super rad set of power-armor? And how did she become a famous sergeant? She must have had some pretty explosive adventures.

#8: Judge Anderson “Dredd” (2012)

When we first meet Cassandra Anderson, she’s a recruit trying to pass her Judge exams. Exams are the worst, especially if they involve ultra-violent gangs and psychoactive drugs. Technically, Anderson is a mutant since she has some pretty powerful psychic abilities. Considering how eventful her training was, we definitely want to see how the rest of her career goes. Since she’s based on a comic character with tons of history, there should be plenty of material to work from. Hopefully we get to see more of her adventures in Mega-City One.

#7: Jeanine Stifler “American Pie” (1999)

Not every awesome female character has to be an action hero. Also known as “Stifler’s Mom,” Jeanine is the progenitor of the infamous term MILF. We’re introduced to her as an ultra-sex symbol and come to see her in a few flings with a younger guy. But there’s more to her than that and we’d love to see just exactly what that is. She seems like the type of character that would have a million crazy stories. We’d be satisfied with just one, especially if there’s a side of pie.

#6: Trinity “The Matrix” (1999)

What was life like before cyber-punk Jesus? Trinity had maybe one of the coolest intro scenes for a science fiction character ever. The way she takes down those cops and jumps over rooftops still blows our minds. We know how her story ends, but how did it begin? What kind of awesome Matrix-related adventures did she get into? Maybe she thought she had previously found the One, but it turned out he kept leaving the toilet seat up and she realized he couldn’t be humanity’s savior. Seriously, though, Trinity was also featured in a couple segments of “The Animatrix.” So there’s definitely room for more stories about her.

#5: Hit-Girl “Kick-Ass” (2010)

She stole our hearts when she got shot in the chest by her dad. Don’t worry, it was no more painful than a punch in the chest. Plus, she got a hot fudge sundae out of it. Trained by a brutal Batman wannabe, she was probably the most effective killer in the whole movie. In fact, she basically got everything done herself. The whole movie could have been just one long scene of her messing suckers up. In any case, seeing her star in her own spin-off would be all kinds of cool. Of course now that Chloë Grace Moretz is growing up, “Hit-Woman” might be a more appropriate title.

#4: Boo “Monsters, Inc.” (2001)

Top 20 Times Female Movie Characters Went Beast Mode

Honestly, we just want to see more of Boo being cute and doing cute things. That’s not weird, is it? Boo is probably one of the most adorable child characters to ever bless the big screen and we’d love to more of her. At the same time, it’d be fascinating to see Boo grow up from an adorable child to an adult woman and how that would change her dynamic with Sulley. There’s also the fan theory that Boo is also the witch from “Brave,” which certainly has potential for a gripping story.

#3: Mathilda “Léon: The Professional” (1994)

Before there were child assassins like Hit-Girl, there was Mathilda. Leon first introduced her to the world of “cleaners” after he saved her from being murdered by some corrupt cops. She took to the lifestyle like a natural, even going so far as to attempt to take her revenge on said corrupt cops herself. At the end of the movie, she appears to leave the murderous lifestyle behind her, but we’d like to see her continue her adventures and live up to being Leon’s protégé. Plus, Natalie Portman reprising her role would be perfect.

#2: Furiosa “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015)

Also in:

Everything We Know about the Mad Max Prequel Furiosa

She was basically a co-lead in this movie anyway, but we don’t care. Furiosa deserves to take center stage. “Fury Road” was like a revelation in action movies when it came out, and the coolest part of the film was this badass chick. When we meet her, she’s already decided to betray Immortan Joe, but we’d like to see the events that lead up to that. Was she a cruel Imperator for her master? Did she kidnap women for him? Just how dark was her past? These are questions we’d like answered. Preferably in high-octane movie form. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions: Leia Organa “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” (1977) Laura “Logan” (2017) Storm “X-Men” (2000)

#1: Natasha Romanoff Marvel Cinematic Universe (2008-)

There are a few areas where the MCU has seriously fallen short and one of them is the lack of female leads. If they can make a movie about a guy who talks to ants, they can certainly make a movie about a highly trained former assassin. Black Widow’s backstory is full of possibilities and her involvement with S.H.I.E.L.D. leaves tons of opportunities for some great stories. What was she doing before she had to babysit Tony Stark? What other adventures did she get into with Hawkeye? Where did her sporadic romance with the Hulk come from? These are questions we need answered.
