Condoleezza Rice was born on November 14, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama. She is the 66th United States Secretary of State, and the second in the administration of President George W. Bush.

As a child Rice was a talented musician and studied piano at the Aspen Music Festival and School. She then enrolled at the University of Denver where she would earn her B.A. in political science in 1974.  She then obtained her masters degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame. She then worked in the State department for a while and eventually got her PhD in Political Science from Graduate School of International Studies at Denver.  

Until the year 1982 Rice was a Democrat until she switched to Republican after growing disillusioned with the Carter Presidency’s foreign policy.

Early in her political career she served in the George H. W. Bush administration and was helpful in aiding with the Presidents relations with the Soviet Union. By 2000 she was George W. Bush’s Foreign Policy Advisor during the presidential campaign. Later that year she was selected to serve as the National Security Advisor.  In 2004 President Bush nominated Rice to be the next Secretary of State in replace of Colin Powell who had resigned. In 2005 she was voted in as the new Secretary of State.

She has also enjoyed successful careers in academia and business.

She has steadily risen to become one of the most powerful women in the US and is a potential candidate for the vice-Presidency or Presidency, however she has expressed interest in becoming the next commissioner of the NFL.
