Cynthia Ann Crawford was born on February 20, 1966 in DeKalb, Illinois. She was discovered by a photographer at the age of 16 while working at a summer job. A few years later she entered into the John Casablancas Look of the Year modeling contest and came in second place.  She was an excellent student and graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA and received an academic scholarship to study Chemical Engineering at Northwestern University.  She ended up dropping out after a semester to pursue modeling as a full time career.

By 1986 she was living in New York City and on her way to becoming a supermodel. She hosted MTV’s House of Style from 1989 to 1995, and in the mid nineties she was well known for starring in Pepsi ads. Cindy has gone on to grace the cover of over 600 magazines and is considered on of the most beautiful women alive. She was the first supermodel to pose nude for Playboy.

She has also tried her hand at acting, but her first leading role, in 1995’s Fair Game, was a failure at the box-office and she has since resigned herself to smaller, cameo roles.

When she was young her brother died of Leukemia and she has devoted a lot of time and money to charities dedicated to its cure and medical research.

She also owns her own production company called Crawdaddy Inc. and has 2 children.
