Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born September 4, 1981 in Houston Texas. She is a multi-talented Singer/ Actress as well as a fashion designer.  She rose to fame as the leader of the biggest selling all-female singing group in history, Destiny’s Child. Destiny’s Child releases 3 albums to huge commercial success with the biggest seller being Survivor which spawned numerous hit singles. 

In 2001 Beyonce won the Songwriter of the year award from the American society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Pop Music Awards.

In 2003 she released her solo debut album, Dangerously in Love, which turned into a massive success. 4 hit singles were released off the album and it sold 11million copies worldwide.  The album was awarded 5 awards in the 2004 Grammy’s.

She began her acting career in 2001 without any prior experience. Her first big role was in the 3rd installment of the Austin Powers franchise, Goldmember, and it is recorded as the highest grossing box office comedy of all time.  She has gone on to star in numerous other films and her films have grossed over 481 million dollars worldwide.

Beyonce, along with the help of other artists, started the Survivor Foundation, which is a charity dedicated to helping the victims of the Hurricane Katrina disaster.
